Job Title: Cybersecurity EngineerLocation of role: Chicago, IL (Remote)Key Points of the role:RequirementsOur ideal candidate will have:• Minimum of four (4) to six (6) years of Information Systems experience in Operating System Administration and Network Infrastructure configuration and management.• Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of information security experience in a hands-on role.• Must be a hands-on member of the information security team.• Must have some experience interpreting and handling information security incident response alerts and reports• Must have some knowledge of information security frameworks such as CIS 7/8 and/or NIST 800-53.• Must have the capability to manage projects and balance time and resources across multiple locations.• Must have experience with typical information security capabilities and tools such as log and event correlation and/or Security Incident and Event Manager (SIEM), Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), Network and/or Web Application Firewalls (WAF), anti-virus and anti-malware, web and spam filters, vulnerability assessment identification tools, and other typical technologies.Essential FunctionsIn this role, you will:• Determine necessary information security controls.• Implement and maintain approved controls to support the cybersecurity program.• Manage vulnerability assessment and incident investigation functions, act as the incident response lead.• Evaluate systems, applications, networks, and devices for vulnerabilities and to ensure documented security requirements are met.• Conduct ongoing security risk assessments and offer mitigation strategies.• Participate as a contributing team member, focused on information security.• Create, when necessary, improve, and support information security policies and procedures to ensure a secure environment for organizational data assets.• Prepare supporting information and statistics to demonstrate information security effectiveness.• Work with departments across the organization to drive security awareness, training, and compliance.• Support business operations while improving information security controls, with a focus on automation and continuous monitoring.• Participate in information technology and information security meetings as assigned.• Interface with consultants and third parties to build and maintain information security controls and capabilities.• Make recommendations for policy changes pertaining to Information Security as business needs change and applications are enhanced.• Research information security trends to ensure the organization is prepared for the ever-evolving threat landscape.• Review contract agreements to ensure information security needs are met.• Complete appropriate security documentation to comply with policies and meet internal and external auditor''s requirements.• Work tirelessly with infrastructure and support teams to build information security into everything that we do, while enabling business capability and agility.Learn more about us and our mission!
