Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday 7a-4p hours may vary Length of Assignment: possible evaluation hire position/long term, depending on job performance, attitude, and attendance, and their projects JOB SUMMARY : Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for commercial building automation projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Evaluate all project specifications and drawings as required to execute an accurate estimation of the work to be performed consistent with accepted practices, processes, and estimating standards. Develop relationships with General Contractors Consult with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. Perform jobsite visits, scope reviews and attend pre-bid meetings to continuously refine project estimating and communications. Develop preventative maintenance agreements with current and new customers Provide timely and accurate turnover to BAS Programmer/Technician. Follow company policies and procedures as outlined in the company employee and safety handbook. Speak, write, read and understand the English language well enough to perform the essential duties of the job. Able to traverse job sites. Perform related work as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: College degree preferred. A combination of postsecondary trade or technical school and construction management/estimating job experience will be considered. Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a Building Automation/Controls Estimator preferred. Possess a robust technical orientation. Ability to read and accurately understand blueprints. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel. CAD and Bluebeam knowledge preferred. Ability to add, subtract, multiple, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals mentally and with a calculator. Ability to compute rations, rates, and percentages. Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure office environment. Maintain a professional approach, tact, and courtesy when dealing with customers, vendors, and co-workers. Able to prioritize, work efficiently and independently, problem solve and meet established deadlines. Possess active listening skills. Able to give full attention to what is being said, taking time to understand the points being made, and ask questions. Possess a strong work ethic and an overall attitude to "get the job done". Demonstrate honest and ethical behavior in business relationships and transactions. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Possess and maintain a valid Pennsylvania Driver''s License WORKING CONDITIONS: PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job. This is largely a sedentary role that requires sitting/standing while working in a stationary position for 90% of the workday. Will occasionally visit job sites. Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, traverse job sites, sit, stand, reach, and occasionally lift and or move up to 10 pounds. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies, etc. Must have the ability to listen to and understand information presented through spoken words and sentences. Must have the ability to communicate information in speaking so others will understand. Other abilities required by this job includes close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust eye focus.
