Project Engineer - Power Systems Job Responsibilities Your specific duties as a Project Engineer - Power Systems will include: A leading manufacturer of automobiles and automotive products, is searching for a highly skilled and motivated lab project engineer candidate in the field of electric powertrain testing to support development of current and future hybrid electric and battery electric vehicles in its Electric Drive Dynamometer and Electric Drive Motor Lab. As a team player, you will create impact by collaborating across the Electrified Powertrain Engineering organization and with key work partners throughout the company - product, engineering and technology teams. Project Engineering on lab upgrades by working in small or larger scale lab projects for new facility lab construction or upgraded equipment. Coordinate suppliers and subcontractors Identify process optimization and efficiency improvements in the lab operations. Develop and upgrade dynamometers, variable frequency drives, durability test stands, switchgear, automation systems, battery simulators, active/passive loads, oil conditioning units, air and coolant chillers, thermal chambers, NVH chambers and data acquisition systems. Creation of project specifications and statement of work documentation. Maintain project schedules, create forecasts and report progress. Work on bids/estimates and complete projects within given budgets. Create documentation for test processes and procedures, project engineering and work instructions for engineers and technicians. Design fixtures and test setups for standard or custom test methods including interaction with fabrication shops and part vendors. Share and present work to cross-functional teams and leadership. Project Engineer - Power Systems Job Requirements As a Project Engineer - Power Systems you must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual and motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. You must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with energy control-power lock out, arc flash and high voltage safety training / best practices Project engineering, coordination and scheduling. 2 years of project management/engineering experience with power systems including power electronics, HVAC systems, coolant systems or electric machines. 1 year of experience with test and measurement equipment such as data acquisition, oscilloscopes, motor controllers, test automation and variable frequency drives. 1 year of experience with CAN/Ethernet/EtherCAT/ASAP3/ProfiBus or other automation communication protocols and related API concepts. Education Required: Bachelor''s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, Construction or Electrical Engineering.
