Facility: Bemidji Occupational Medicine Location: Bemidji, MN Address: 705 5th St NW b, Bemidji, MN 56601, USA Shift: 8 Hours - Day Shifts Job Schedule: PRN Weekly Hours: Varies Starting Rate: 18. 50 Job Summary Assists in the administration, documentation and monitoring of the COVID-19 vaccine to patients. Works with team members to administer COVID-19 vaccine via intramuscular injection in to the deltoid muscle. Documents the vaccine in Sanford One Chart through the immunization functionality. Screens and educates patients in regards to the COVID-19 vaccine. Observes post-vaccine waiting area, assists with adverse events, post-vaccine education and cleaning of the post-vaccine area. Demonstrates competency and practices within the scope of expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting. Qualifications Depending on work background, must meet the following requirements: LPN: Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Medical Assistant: Must be a graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program. RN: Graduate from an accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor s Degree in nursing preferred. Previous experience in administering vaccinations preferred. Depending on work background, must have one of: LPN: Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility. Medical Assistant: Certification (CMA) obtained through a nationally approved certification program for medical assistant, including but not limited to, the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), etc. Additional state requirements include: South Dakota (SD) registration as a MA through the SD Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners. North Dakota (ND) registration as an MAIII through the ND Board of Nursing. MAs working within Minnesota (MN) and Iowa (IA) do not require state registration. RN: Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific licensure, competencies and certifications. RN or LPN Temporary Permit or state issued Work Authorization with the Board of Nursing: The RN or LPN Temporary Permit/Work Authorization becomes invalid upon the notification of the results of the first examination or 90 days following the date of issuance by the Board of Nursing. Temporary permits are not renewable and are single-state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
