Firmware Engineering Manager

Title: Firmware Engineering Manager Location: Ideally Renton, WA but open to remote arrangement for a top-notch candidate Duration: Fulltime (PERM) Min Years of Relevant Experience: 10+ Years in a technical FW Engineering role and 7+ years in people management role Degree : M.Sc./B.Sc. Computer Science (ideal), B.Sc. Electrical Engineering or other related disciplines Essential Responsibilities: A true leader who takes on the roles of a player and coach, in supporting their team Takes ownership of all firmware development projects & resources, supporting concurrent New Product Initiatives & maintenance of legacy products Actively contributes to the codebase for new features & defect resolution (> 70% Hands-on responsibilities) Oversees the architecture of the firmware stack, maintaining a vision for future scalability and cost-effective maintenance Effectively leads a team of talented firmware engineers across multiple sites, supporting their career development Works with the engineering leadership, to establish effective development processes, aimed at improving quality and time to market of products Supports the organization by contributing to the long-term technology roadmap definition, including evaluation & selection of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COS) products & tools Collaborates closely with the Product Management Group to provide feature-rich products, maximizing on the firmware''s potential capabilities Systematically manages technical debt, by conducting impact/root-cause analysis of outstanding defects and taking corrective actions to ensure continuous quality improvements Applies creativity and rallies the team to increase productivity and be able to deliver more with less Contributes to strategic resource planning to support business growth plans
