We look forward to the future, and what this means for you, if you join our team.An Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for customer service fulfillment within the branch, which includes lobby management, researching, and resolving complex customer service matters, determining policy exceptions, ensuring operational excellence and compliance within the branch. The position is responsible for coaching, motivating, and creating a positive work environment that demonstrates the Ameris Approach and aligns with the Bank''s Mission, Vision, Purpose, Experience Expectations, and Values.Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:Strictly adheres to Bank Secrecy Act requirements and applies organizational policies and procedures in all activitiesSupervises the operations of the branch including the lobby and teller line, establishing staffing schedules, performing audits, evaluating employee performance, and monitoring complianceRecruits, trains, coaches, leads, schedules, motivates, and evaluates the work of a team which may include Tellers, Personal Bankers, Universal Bankers, Head Tellers, and Travel BankersResponsible for optimizing use of resources to meet operational needs of the branchDemonstrates effective sales strategies to attract, expand, and retain customer relationships and guides team to achieve sales objectives through action planningOversees the customer experience within the branch assessing customer and employee feedback, identifying opportunities for improvement, and researching and resolving complex problems to ensure customer service excellenceManages branch safety, security, and complianceProtects against criminal or fraudulent activity, risk or exposurePerforms regular audits of vault and teller cash with proper documentationRepresents the Bank in business development efforts and at networking and community functionsMaintains knowledge of banking products, programs, services, and promotionsLeads or co-facilitates training and staff meetingsProvide backup support to other branches as neededApproves policy exceptions within authorized limitsResponsible for achievement of branch objectives, sales and service objectives as set by Bank leadershipMay perform all sales and service functions of the branch as neededPractices ethical sales behaviors in accordance with the Bank''s Core Values of Integrity and HonestyAlways acts in the best interest of the customer when offering additional products and servicesRequired Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:Able to be flexible and supportive, reacting swiftly to change and adjusting prioritiesAble to positively and proactively lead change management initiativesDemonstrates leadership skillset with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships, coach, mentor, and retain a high performing teamAbility to meet and exceed established targetsAble to effectively and persuasively express self, using language and grammar in a professional mannerAble to plan, maintain, and organize a professional schedule to achieve strategic performance objectives within or ahead of established time framesAble to research, analyze, identify viable options, draw sound conclusions, present findings, and make thoughtful recommendations considering overall risk and the short-term and long-term impactAble to provide a high level of interactive service to others, building relationships, and addressing identified needsKnowledge of banking policies and proceduresDemonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales and service objectivesIndustry and Work Experience:3 or more years of retail banking experienceSupervisory or leadership experienceSuccessful sales management and business development experienceExperience in branch operationsExperience in consumer creditIntermediate PC proficiencyIntermediate proficiency in Google Docs and Microsoft Office productsAcademic:Associate''s degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceDisclaimer:The above job description is meant to describe the general nature and level of work being performed; it is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required for the position.All job requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
