Job Description

Position Purpose:Support and manage product projects and product development initiatives, conduct market research and analysis, and assist in the development of marketing strategy. Work with internal teams to ensure readiness and successful product launches. Create data sheets, white papers, web site copy, and other collateral. Develop documents defining positioning, messaging, competitive differentiation, and go-to-market strategy. Train new employees/sales force on division products.Essential Functions:Marketing and Business Plan - Contribute to the development of the annual marketing/ business plan. Develop and communicate marketing strategies to support segment / product sales objectives. Responsible for managing department budget for assigned segment / product line. Assists in developing and managing the timing and implementation of detailed market and sales plans to support new products within assigned segment. Assess the effectiveness of the marketing programs that support your products on an ongoing basis, and report back to the business on required changes.Customer Insight - Communicates regularly with sales group (OEM & Field). Assist sales on calls when appropriate to provide deeper dives into the product. Develop and analyze market surveys to discover concerns, opportunities, and define improvement needs for assigned segment / product lines. Maintain contact with trade associations and other sources of market information.Go-to-Market Strategy - Coordinate production of all sales support materials, advertising, and promotion plans for assigned segment / product lines. Plan the launches of net-new products and releases of existing products and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan. Conduct sales and marketing enablement (training and educating these teams on the go-to-market, positioning, messaging, differentiation).Competitive Analysis - Maintain and manage competitive intelligence and comparisons by working with cross-functional stakeholders and executing self-lead research. Leads the gathering, maintaining, and analyzing of market competitive intelligence by application and vocation.Pricing Strategy - Responsible for segment / product line pricing. Use market research data to determine product pricing.Product/Program Management - Supports product planning by identifying and providing solutions to customer needs, prioritizing opportunities, and participating on product development teams (SPPD) for assigned segment / product lines. Coordinate with Program Managers to monitor movement of product development activities throughout the organization to ensure that program deliverables and due dates are maintained. Assists in writing product development business plans. Actively participates as a key member of the Trailer Marketing Team.Education and TrainingBachelor''s degree in marketing, business, or engineering required.MBA preferred. Minimum QualificationsThree to eight years'' experience in marketing.Experience in the heavy trucking, commercial vehicle or automotive industry puter literacy with Windows environment. Physical DemandsTravel overnight as required.Frequent sitting and working at computer for extended periods of time.Environmental ConditionsOffice setting.Minimal exposure to R&D lab and manufacturing setting.Behavioral TraitsAbility to handle multiple projects and prioritize work.Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.Self-motivated with good organization and planning skills.Must have good people skills and be able to develop good working relationships with the customers, distributors, sales group, staff, etc.Good analytical skills.Hendrickson is an Equal Opportunity Employer
