Position Summary: The Laboratory Technician III is responsible for preparing, executing, and analyzing microbiological or chemistry testing in accordance with regulated laboratory testing techniques, safety protocols, approved procedures, and customer-specific preparatory methods. The Laboratory Technician III creates customer-specific methods and is responsible for overseeing a scientific study or project. The Laboratory Technician III schedules the work of Technician staff, leads daily meetings, and trains on testing processes. What you will do with us: Operational Excellence (80%) Prepares, executes, and analyzes microbiology or chemistry Laboratory tests (eg. Bioburden, Sterility, LAL Endotoxin, Microbial Limits, Anti-Microbial Effectiveness, Organism Identification, EO Residual, cleaning qualifications, and test method validations) in compliance with technical and legal regulations and procedures, as well as customer-specific preparatory methods. Reads, interprets and records results of testing, particularly if problems arise. Oversee a scientific study, making sure supplies are available and inventory updated. Participates in investigations of test errors or and issues with testing supplies. Participates in the development and review of methods and Standard Operating Procedures. Schedules the work of Technician staff and leads daily meetings. Trains Technician staff on testing processes. Contributes to a team effort by performing in accordance with all STERIS policies, GMP, Lean principles and other directives; supports the directives and decisions of higher-level management and performs other duties as assigned. Customer Relationships (20%) Creates and edits customer-specific preparatory methods for testing (to be approved): Gathers basic product information from customer and performs online research on how the product would best be tested. Uses technical writing skills to produce a document.
