International Trade Compliance Analyst 3 Newport News, VA 8- month contract, Max Pay $35.00 BOE. Must be US Citizen. Must be fully COVID vaccination. Sorry, no C2C or third-party resumes. Position Summary / Responsibilities Develops and manages comprehensive internal export and import controls to ensure compliance with US and foreign regulations in the conduct of international marketing, sales, supply chain and other business activities. Establishes business processes for submitting to and obtaining from the US government all necessary export and import licenses, permits, certifications, and technology release determinations. Establishes and maintains relations with appropriate government regulatory agencies. Establishes operational processes for assuring trade compliance through gate reviews for technical data, foreign travel, foreign visits and export and import shipments. Maintains applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements. Supports law department in investigating and resolving compliance problems, questions, or complaints. Establishes and maintains training and audit assessment programs to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls. Generates performance metrics for export and import processes. Knowledge Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Full knowledge of industry practices. Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform fairly complex professional tasks. Problem Solving Develop solutions to a variety of complex problems. May refer to established precedents and policies. Discretion / Latitude Performs fairly complex tasks and participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plan schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Impact Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would normally have a serious effect upon the administration of the organization. Liaison Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations. May develop and deliver presentations. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor''s Degree in related field Minimum 6 years professional experience. Or, Master''s degree and Minimum 4 year of relevant professional experience. Special Requirements; This position will not require clearance, driving, or travel. This position MAY have the option for part time remote work once training has been completed. Full time onsite work will be required for a minimum of the first few weeks of assignment. Experience with Department of State export licenses and exemptions (ITAR) Experience with hardware export filings and hand-carries Jurisdiction and classification of products under the ITAR and EAR Ability to document procedures and processes Comfort level in providing training on export compliance topics Detail oriented Project oriented Able to support multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Computer literacy This person will assist the International Compliance Office in all matters of export compliance. Specifically, this person will assist various projects related to export activity to include hardware shipments, licensing (ITAR) and export compliance. The focus of those projects will be on reviewing transactional requests for travel and hardware shipments, understanding current export licenses, and analyzing current files for compliance. It is expected that research of export regulations will be a necessary part of their daily support. Additional support will take the form of commodity classification for export purposes to determine regulatory coverage under the ITAR or EAR. The person will be expected to support internal self-assessments by collecting data, conducting analysis, and identifying possible changes/improvements. This person will assist the International Compliance Office in all matters of import and export compliance. Specifically, this person will assist various projects related to imports and Customs compliance. The focus of those projects will be on HTS classification, duty analysis and valuation of imports. It is expected that research of Customs regulations will be a necessary part of their daily support. Additional support will take the form of commodity classification for export purposes to determine regulatory coverage under the ITAR or EAR. The person will be expected to support internal self-assessments by collecting data, conducting analysis, and identifying possible changes/improvements. Additional support will take the form of various projects related to export activity to include hardware shipments, licensing (ITAR) and export compliance. The focus of those projects will be on reviewing transactional requests for travel and hardware shipments, understanding current export licenses, and analyzing current files for compliance.
