Eaton''s Commercial & Residential Distribution Solutions Division is currently seeking a Lead Firmware Engineer to join our team! This position will be based at our Peachtree City, GA facility. The Lead Firmware Engineer will develop solutions for embedded systems and IoT/Connected devices, help to identify and evaluate emerging markets and technologies globally; lead project teams in the research, design, development and industrialization of new innovative products and services. Identify technical solutions associated to technical issues found in electronic based products and their applications. In this function you will: Code firmware that enables the launch of new products that require wireless protocols, control theory, proprietary or standards-based communication protocols, lighting controls. Actively coordinate the embedded design with the electrical, power, control system and enterprise software throughout the product development cycle. Ensure new products meet our customer''s needs: Understand the customer needs by working with product management Understand the system level design and enterprise software architectures by working with the systems and software technical leaders Ensure the product specifications are complete, accurate and achievable in collaboration with the technical design team Design solutions that fulfill these needs and meet regulatory requirements Validate the design through design reviews, product testing and detailed analysis Incorporate support for the manufacturing, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of the product / system Protect intellectual property through patent disclosures Perform Engineering analysis and support all activities involving UL, CSA, NEMA standards. Performs project management activities to progress the project along the toll-gate process Develop and release product design documentation, including Software Design Documents, Assembly Line programming and Work Instructions etc. through the ECN process. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor''s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution Minimum of 5 years of embedded product design experience No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred Qualifications: Master''s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution Experience in wireless networking and communication protocols - Wi-Fi, Z-Wave, Bluetooth Experience in C/C++ Language programming Experience in firmware development lifecycle Experience with UL, IEC and FCC standards Experience debugging microprocessor firmware using lab equipment such as logic analyzers, serial data analyzers, oscilloscopes Experience with revision control systems, preferably SVN or GIT Position Criteria: Knowledge of RF, digital and analog circuitry with emphasis on IoT Working knowledge of PCB schematic and Layout with experience in debugging existing electronics Skilled in writing specifications and end-user documentation What you''ll get from us: We provide benefits that are industry competitive and focused on employee well-being.
