The implementation of the expansion will require construction management and design support. Manages to facilitate the delivery of quality infrastructure projects as well as timely administration and completion such that project goals are reasonable achieved in accordance with the baseline schedule and cost, under the direction of the Project Director. Provides construction management during the implementation of construction. Provides supervision and coordination of technical personnel and projects, or may supervise multiple contracts and projects of extensive monetary value to the City. Provides technical analysis and information to develop solutions and improve systems and plans. Prepares and reviews contract addendums, reports, plans, projects, and design standards. Establish goals, develops, and evaluates performance of personnel and/or projects. Conducts on-site project inspections and investigations. Responds to inquiries by departments, consultants, agencies and the general public. Negotiate contracts, evaluate bid documents and assist in selecting bid awards. WORKING CONDITIONS There are occasional minor discomforts from exposure to less-than-optimal temperature and air conditions. The position may involve dealing with modestly unpleasant situations, as with occasional exposure to office chemicals and/or extensive use of a video display terminal. This is a Department of Houston Public Works Management position at the Tier I Level.
