DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerforms routine maintenance of medical equipment, inventory, assets, facilities, and EMS reserve fleet. Provides a safe and hygienic environment. Performs as a team leader of EMS logistics warehouse.Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Maintain and track records of inventory and repairs of equipmentMay be required to drive a city vehicle to various fire department stationsTroubleshoots equipment and makes recommendations for repairsWorks closely with vendors and other city departments to complete tasks as neededPractices equipment and parts conservationInspects and repairs general maintenance of equipmentWill lead and train lower-level personnelThis is a Houston Fire Department/ EMS emergency management position at the Tier I level.WORKING CONDITIONSThere are routine exposures to significant levels of heat, cold, moisture, and air pollution in a warehouse environment. The position may involve periodic exposure to chemical substances and physical trauma of a minor nature such as cuts, bruises, and minor burns. The position involves considerable physical exertion, such as regular climbing of ladders, lifting of heavy objects (up to 80 pounds) on a highly frequent basis, and/or assuming awkward positions for long periods of time
