Operates heavy equipment such as (Dump Trucks, 5/10 Ton Roller, Asphalt Distributor Truck, Concrete Mixer Truck, Concrete Saw, Flusher (with tanker endorsement, F.E. Loader, Herb. Spray Truck, Lowboy, Pothole Patcher, Slope Mower, Bulldozer, Sweeper, and Bucket Truck) to transport equipment and/ or materials to and from work sites. Performs a variety of manual tasks and activities, i.e. spraying, lawn care, moving furniture, roofing, painting, digging manholes, mowing, pouring concrete or asphalt, etc. Maintains, cleans, and services equipment, vehicles, tools, and facilities. Inspects vehicles for required supplies, materials, and equipment. Observe and follow safety procedures and precautions at the worksite. May investigate and respond to complaints. Prepares and maintains reports, forms, and records. May act as a lead on a crew and coordinate and monitor work assignments and personnel. WORKING CONDITIONSThis position routinely requires stooping, bending, and/or lifting of items of up to thirty (30) pounds with occasional periods of walking on rough surfaces.This is a Department of Houston Public Works Emergency Management position at the Tier I Level.
