Adecco is hiring a Senior Accountant for a local client in Ann Arbor, MI. Summary: The Senior Accountant ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. Duties and Responsibilities: Prepares various monthly reconciliations ensuring accuracy in balance sheet accounts. Prepares various monthly journal entries. Analyzes complex accounting areas to ensure proper treatment in accordance with GAAP including documentation in the form of technical memos or position papers. Ensures activity/balances for assigned accounts/areas are recorded in conformity with Company policy and U.S. GAAP. Juggles multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast paced environment. Assists in the development and/or enhancement of policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporate accounting function and organization. Contributes to the successful completion of quarterly reviews and annual audits. Supports M&A integrations ensuring seamless integration of acquired businesses. Collaborates with various functional departments as appropriate. Assists with timely and accurate completion of the quarterly financial statements, footnotes and supporting schedules/explanations. Assists in maintaining a well-balanced control environment and testing of controls. Participates in special projects and performs additional duties. Ideal Qualifications: Bachelor''s degree with either a major in accounting or finance plus a minimum of two (2) to five(5)years of related experience. Strong computer proficiency (Excel). Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls. Ability to work independently and productively in a dynamic environment, as well as being a solutions-oriented team player. High level of initiative with good independent judgment and strong detail orientation. Ability to balance multiple tasks or projects simultaneously with minimal direction and prioritize in a deadline driven environment. Ancillary Qualifications: Qualifications listed below, while not necessarily a requirement for this position in each circumstance, provide additional depth and value to the role. Experience with Oracle, Planful, NetSuite and/or Blackline. Experience in public accounting and/or with a publicly traded organization. Experience with an SEC environment and exposure to SOX compliance. Certified Public Accountant, or progressing toward certification. Continuing education coursework to stay current on accounting principles. Other important information about this position: This position is typically based in an Ann Arbor location and may be appropriate for full or partial remote work, subject to approval. Occasional travel may be required. This position requires weekday (Monday - Friday) attendance with some scheduling flexibility available around core working hours.
