SUMMARY Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product final distribution. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.Locates and packs materials for shipping.Document material and records units delivered and location of units.Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and requesting repairs.Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items.Keeps inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean.Open containers, sort, and catalog materials.Learns and adheres to workplace safety regulations.Keep work area clean, orderly, and safe at all times.Perform other duties as needed. Education and Experience Requirements High School diploma or equivalentThe reading and comprehension of specifications and/or written instructions.Shop Math - the required mathematical abilities to perform the necessary functions of the jobKnowledge of theory and practice - the basic understanding or knowledge of the required theory and practices needed to perform the job.Demonstrated ability - a level of demonstrated ability needed to be able to perform all the above functions of the job.Ability to operate standing and sitting forklifts.Physical Demand and Work Environment: Physical demands- standing, bending, reaching for extended periods of time.
