Your Impact: An opportunity to join our successful Planning/GIS/Environmental Resources/Community Engagement Group as a Sustainability Leader based on our Chicago, IL office. Jacobs has a portfolio of high-profile projects across the public and private infrastructure sectors. We are looking for a passionate and adaptable sustainability specialist who can lead transformative strategies and programs in these sectors to maximize the environmental and social benefit of infrastructure delivery and wider solutions. You may have specific experience in one of these sectors or bring knowledge and experience of driving sustainability projects and programs in other sectors which you can apply in this context. As a Sustainability leader you will lead and support sustainability projects and programs, either directly or as part of integrated multi-disciplinary programs, mostly focused in the US. You will provide technical leadership and advice in relation to a range of environmental and sustainability aspects. This will include decarbonization and energy transition, climate risk and resilience, life cycle assessments, sustainable design advice, circular economy and resource efficiency, environmental and social value creation, sustainable procurement and stakeholder engagement. You will be a positive communicator with strong influencing ability, who is able to lead projects without direct supervision and coordinate the work of a small task delivery team. BIA Bachelors degree in a relevant environmental/natural science or similar subject Demonstrated relative experience of a similar or related role Strong technical understanding of sustainability, climate change and environmental management and demonstrable experience of providing advisory and practical support in embedding sustainability or environmental management within organizations and projects Knowledge and experience of supporting projects in addressing sustainability challenges and opportunities including any of the following: decarbonization and climate risk, circular economy and resource efficiency, environmental and social value creation, life cycle assessment and/or sustainable procurement Strong analytical skills and an ability to think strategically about integrated and holistic solutions A proven track record of successful project or task management and delivery on environmental and/or sustainability projects and programs Excellent report writing skills and substantial experience of report writing, presentations and workshop delivery Experience of advising on and developing sustainable approaches and methodologies for tender proposals Excellent communication and team skills The ability to package information for both technical and non-technical audiences Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
