Staff Accountant OUTSTANDING Opportunity! Jefferson Wells has an immediate need for a Staff Accountant to join one of our premier clients located in the Waukesha area! This is a HYBRID Position (3 days in office, 2 days remote). The ideal candidate will possess solid GAAP Accounting knowledge with a strong background in General Ledger Support, Physical Inventory, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable along with high proficiency in Excel and an ERP system. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Readies and maintains accurate and timely financial and business transactions, applying generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), that include work that is analytical, evaluative, and advisory in nature and that requires an understanding of both accounting theory and practice.Principal DutiesPrepares customer invoices and statements, posts transactions, maintains journals, ledgers and other documents while reconciling to the general ledger and provides clerical support related to maintaining the accounts receivable records of the organization.Post cash receipts to applicable customer accounts and maintain journals, ledgers, and other documents generated during the process dailyOn a weekly, or as needed basis, complete customer collection attemptsVerifies and vouches vendor invoices, posts transactions, maintains journals, ledgers and other documents while reconciling to the general ledger and provides clerical support related to maintaining the accounts payable records necessary to pay the obligations of the organization.Performs general ledger account analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, to assist in financial period closesOversees physical inventory process monthlyDocuments and updates standard operating and internal control proceduresServes as back-up to payrollMay perform other operational duties and/or complete special projects as assigned Qualifications Bachelor''s degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred. 3+ years of related experience required.Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems; Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook; Internet Software, Customer Resource Management software.Well organized and attentive to detail.Ability to identify problems, interpret data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to read, analyze and interpret business documents.Ability to prioritize and complete or address multiple, deadline-sensitive issues.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to calculate commonly used business discounts, ratios, interest, commissions, percentages, etc. If this sounds like an opportunity you would like to be considered for, please contact us as soon as possible!
