This position is for a technical role in the Mechanical Engineering group, supporting new development and existing design of fluid power and motion control systems and components. Work with program IPT and test stand suppliers to ensure test stand development and delivery to the customer is on time and meets requirements. Support regular teleconferences, reviews, and IPT meetings to report out on action item status. Provide technical guidance for the validation of the test stand(s), ensuring test stand supplier meets all *** and customer requirements in preparation for delivery and check out with the customer Be the point of contact with the test stand supplier to ensure progress, address technical issues, review drawings, etc. Complete actions assigned to the project/mechanical engineer to support program schedule Coordinate/communicate with program manager on progress of tasks and communicate risks to on-time completion Support the build and test of components used for validation of the test stands Create ''redlines" to technical manuals in preparation for delivery to technical writers. Review technical manuals for accuracy, provide feedback to technical writers, prepare for delivery to the customer They need to have experience (ideas) with engineering testing, technical writing, project engineering, and product development ideally in aerospace and hydraulics. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor''s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution - Minimum 3 years of Mechanical Engineering design experience utilizing 3D CAD software - Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship - This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area will be considered for this position PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor''s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution - Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, or electromechanical products - Experience in the Aerospace Industry - Experience with Pro/Engineer - Ability to apply of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and perform tolerance - stack-up analyses - Knowledge of manufacturing processes and material selection for engineering design - Ability to perform basic structural and/or performance analysis. - Working knowledge of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Design for Manufacturability (dfM), Failure Modes - and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiments (DOE), and Root Cause and Corrective Action - (RCCA) principles. - Experience with working on cross-functional teams. - Good technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
