A Program of Eckerd Connects and governed by a community-based board, Eckerd Connects Community Alternatives has developed an integrated and collaborative system of care for safety, well-being, and permanency of vulnerable and at-risk children, while strengthening and supporting families. Essential Functions Establish positive relationships with children, biological parents, foster and adoptive parents and extended family. Transport children identified by the case management team. Oversee family time (visitations) as assigned or with case manager. Complete documentation related to provision of services within two business days. Assist in development and maintenance of efficient pick-up and delivery route schedules. Communicate with all involved parties for transportation or family time visitation if there are any time barriers or delays in real time. Operate agency or personal vehicle to ensure youth attendance at school timely and other programs. Maintain, personal vehicle to manufacturer''s standards and Eckerd Connects policies. Complete pre-trip inspections on vehicle per Eckerd Connects'' policy. Ensure vehicle is road-worthy and report unsafe vehicle issues to program staff immediately. Obey traffic laws and comply with all Eckerd Connects policies and program operating guidelines. Supervise clients during transport; ensure appropriate methods of managing child safety and access to medications, personal documentation and or any danger threats while in transport or at a family time visitation is secure. All activities involving youth will require documentation. Follow medication protocol established by Eckerd Connects Maintain supervision until clients are either affirmatively transferred to another staff member or are delivered to their stop; comply with Eckerd Connects'' policies and practices related to behaviors in vehicle. Do not operate vehicle while using phone per Eckerd Connects policy. Participate in meetings and work sessions related to service provision as appropriate and directed by direct supervisor. Complete other tasks as assigned or as necessary to ensure that clients receive necessary services and/or to ensure that necessary administrative tasks are completed. Trained and authorized to access protected health information. Position Specifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: Prior successful work-related driving experience preferred. Proven safe driving record required. Driving records will be checked using Motor Vehicle Records from the Department of Motor Vehicles. Skills: Safe driving skills and practices. Ability to relate to wide diversity of youth and adults. Travel: Must be able to meet requirements for Eckerd''s Auto Insurance and be able to drive for business purposes. Must have and maintain appropriate vehicle, valid state driver''s license and be able to drive for long periods of time. Other: Must meet state criminal background check requirements; ability to work non-traditional work schedule, including evenings and early mornings. Must be able to meet requirements for Eckerd''s Auto Insurance and be able to drive for business purposes. Must have and maintain appropriate and valid state driver''s license. Must have and maintain appropriate vehicle and be able to utilize vehicle to transport clients. Must maintain automobile liability insurance on vehicle that meets state and Eckerd Connects'' requirements. Physical Demands: Ability to transport others; ability to maintain sitting position for at least ½ of business day; ability to occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds; Must be able to pass evaluation of crisis intervention/physical restraint techniques and written certification exam; ability to concentrate on road and traffic conditions, while maintaining order from passengers; must be free of communicable disease as defined by the appropriate state and to the extent that knowledge is attainable under the law; maintain minimum training hours and credentials as defined by Eckerd.
