Salary Range $34,700 - $43,400Close Date Until FilledGeneral Description and Classification StandardsPerforms semi-skilled work involving the operation and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. Duties may include, but are not limited to: running diagnostic tests on vehicles, completing work requests, performing fleet management tasks, reporting, and maintaining equipment which includes tow trucks, fork lifts, battery power packs, auto code scanners, key cutters and other equipment used in the daily operation of the garage.Supervision ReceivedWorks under direct supervision and follows standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.Essential Duties & Responsibilities These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. May perform other duties as pletes work requests; reviews vehicle service history; verifies warranty status; completes maintenance or repairs; advises vehicle status. Assists with fleet management; assesses repair or service needs of vehicle; runs diagnostic tests on vehicles; may schedule towing for disabled vehicles, arrange pick-up or dispatch operable vehicles to applicable service facility for repair; performs post service inspections. Assists with reporting; compiles statistical information regarding labor, vehicle downtime and repair history. Operates and maintains equipment, including tow trucks, fork lifts, battery power packs, auto code scanners, key cutters and other equipment used in the daily operation of the garage.Decision MakingFollows standardized procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.Leadership ProvidedNone. May oversee temporary or contract workers as needed.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities This is a partial listing of necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job successfully. It is not an exhaustive list.Knowledge of: automotive terminology and principals of automotive repair.Skill in: the use of computers; in troubleshooting vehicle maintenance issues and in the care and use of basic mechanic tools.Ability to: communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, internal and external customers.Qualifications Minimum Qualifications - Education and ExperienceCompletion of a 1 year technical or vocational course of study in the appropriate area.1 year of experience in general automotive and collision repair.Preferred Education & ExperienceCompletion of a 1 year technical or vocational course of study in the appropriate area and 3 years'' experience in general automotive and collision repair.Licenses and CertificationsValid State of Georgia CDL License required. ASE Certified Mechanic in general automotive repair and collision required.Essential Capabilities and Work EnvironmentRequired physical, lifting, and sensory capabilities are requirements to perform the job successfully.
