Job Description:Job Summary:Performs highest level of substantive legal based services; uses advanced skills developed through substantial experience in a specialized area and is a relied upon resource for complex matters. Regularly uses discretion and independent judgment in matters of consequence to the Bank and its clients. Interacts with Outside Counsel and internal clients with minimal supervision. Recognized as a subject matter expert within their practice group. Trains junior paralegals in area of specialty as needed. Requires four year degree or paralegal degree/certificate or relevant business experience.Job Duties & Responsibilities for Supporting Consumer Mortgage Lending clients include but limited to:Utilize working knowledge of applicable laws related to the marketing of home loans products and services such as Reg. Z, TILA, ECOA, UDAAP, SAFE Act, FTC, CFPB and other agency guidance, etc. in multiple media channels and content types including print, e-mail, internet and direct mail, social media, native advertising, testimonial based copy, in reviewing ad copy presented by lines of business and ad agencies through the Bank''s marketing review database. Spot issues, work with compliance and risk to assess risk posed by marketing content, guide the line of business in how to convey marketing messages to consumers in a compliant manner.Develop and execute routines for keeping legal team informed of applicable regulatory changes. Establish alerts and research tools to identify proposed, pending and newly passed legislation, determining whether there is impact to the home loans line of business, and, if necessary, preparing a summary. On a routine or as needed basis, prepare memos and logs to be circulated to inform the legal team and the lines of business of any new, amended, or revised laws or regulations. Assist attorneys and compliance to determine if the Bank''s lines of business are partaking in behavior that could be implicated by consent orders or other regulatory actions involving other lending institutions.Work collaboratively with attorneys to assist in projects as they arise from time to time"”this many include coordinating meeting routines, determining stakeholders, keeping notes and records of project status, conducting and summarizing legal or factual (e.g. Bank files/notes/ databases) research, helping manage Bank''s response to customer escalations. *Candidates requiring visa sponsorship will not be considered for this position.
