OverviewThe Licensed Electrical Planner is responsible for providing reliable and responsive Electrical Engineer support to ensure effective and efficient operations of U.S. Government owned and occupied facilities, associated installed equipment, and high and low voltage electrical distribution infrastructure. Subject to CBA requirements. ResponsibilitiesThis position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.Major Job Activities:Provides efficient, effective and timely Electrical engineering expertise, to include but not limited to designs for electrical and military projects, and engineering studies. Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of electricity and materials. Confirms system''s and components'' capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties. "¯ Completes construction projects by preparing engineering design and documents and confirming specifications. Designs construction projects by studying project concept, architectural drawings, and models. Apply design knowledge in high voltage power distribution, step-down transformers and low voltage distribution, grounding, lighting, control systems, and equipment specifications and selections. Manage all phases of capital expense projects from inception through equipment installation and start-up. Determines project costs by calculating labor, material, and related costs. Creates feasibility study by analyzing engineering design, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data. Produces engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules. Confirms adherence to construction specifications and safety standards by monitoring project progress, inspecting construction site, and verifying calculations and placements. Fulfills project requirements by training and guiding operators. Maintains operations by enforcing project and operational policies and procedures. Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests. Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions. Maintains project database by entering data, and completing backups. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Performs specific duties and responsibilities related to Electrical engineering design."¯"¯Material & Equipment Directly Used:Personal computer, MS Office, and other general office equipment.Working Environment:Work is generally conducted in an office environment and could include work at project locations. Duties, however, may involve work outdoors with potential exposure to all seasons and climatic conditions.Physical Activities:Should be able to lift 50 pounds. Work may require stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential exists for exposure to physical dangers and chemical or hazardous agents. May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). QualificationsEducation / Certifications:Shall have a bachelor''s degree in electrical engineering from a program certified by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Shall have and maintain professional registration as an engineer under the requirements of the Oklahoma State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors.U.S. citizenship is required.Active Secret Clearance.Experience:A minimum of 5 years'' experience in facility and infrastructure design."¯"¯ Skills:CAD, AutoCAD, LISP Design skills Site development Planning Conceptual skills Regulatory compliance Knowledge and experience applying NEC codes, guidelines and regulations Problem solving Supervisory and Budgetary Responsibilities:Supervises employees directly and indirectly.
