Mid Level Technical Analyst/Project Engineer

Overview Provide analytical consultant support to the Department of Defense (DOD), Office of the Secretary of Defense Mission Prototyping (OSD MPO) Office. As a member of the OSD MPO staff, the STA will be responsible for supporting the administration and oversight of Mission Prototype System Projects. MPO provides defense-wide Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) funding for development of innovative prototype solutions, some projects include cooperative efforts with foreign allies and partner nations in support of strategic Undersecretary of Defense for Research & Engineering (USD R&E) technology priority areas. Focus areas include, but are not limited to: Joint C3 Networks, Space, Hypersonics, Cybersecurity, Biotechnology, Directed Energy, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Microelectronics, Quantum Science. This position requires DoD Secret Clearance. Responsibilities Provide timely and accurate products and deliverables in adherence with customer needs and standards Provide programmatic and financial oversight to individual RDT&E projects Assist in the planning and implementation of program processes Review technology information papers and proposals Provide analysis and recommendations to decision makers Interface with OSD Military and Government personnel Research and identify new technology opportunities sources to address complex and evolving DOD problems Travel to both CONUS military installations for project management and OCONUS locations for technology discovery and project engagement Communicate with personnel spanning a broad range of Government and commercial institutions in support of program objectives to include: - OSD, Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Special Operations Command, Regional Combatant Commands, other Defense Agencies, foreign Governments and Embassies, and industry Physical activities associated with office work, travel, and observing demonstrations, experimentation, and test events. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certifications: Bachelors degree In engineering or Technical fields Additional Qualifications (highly desired) Five (5) to Seven (7) years of experience in one or more of the following: Test and evaluation responsibility at a government or Industry facility or test range. Operating within the Pentagon/OSD, Military Service or Defense Agency staff, and/or Joint Staff environment. S&T, systems acquisition or weapon system acquisition project management experience. One or more of the following technology or specialty areas: Hypersonics Autonomous Systems ISR and Space Capability Resilience Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning Cyber Operations - Offensive and Defensive Special Operations Experience: 5 -7 years of progressively responsible experience in test & evaluation, technology, or program management.
