Job DescriptionThe Executive Director, Actuarial serves as the lead pricing actuary for Commercial Middle Market (51 - 5,000 employees) business segments, comprising over 800,000 fully insured members.Responsibilities include:- Ownership of the large group rate review process, which establishes pricing strategies to achieve volume and profitability objectives across 51-100, Select, Key and Public & Labor business.- Leading a team responsible for actuarial forecasting for Select and Key Accounts and all large group rate filings.- Extensive partnership and leadership across Actuarial, Finance, Underwriting, Segment Centers of Excellence, Commercial Markets, and other business leaders around the organization to drive pricing and financial strategies.- Monitoring financial performance, underwriting execution, volume and other key indicators across Middle Market segments; developing and implementing appropriate strategies in response to emerging performance.- Managing a multi-layered team of 20+ actuarial professionals.- Developing and delivering sound, concise and effective verbal and written communications and presentations to various audiences, including peers, staff, business partners and senior leaders across many functional areas.- Influencing and empowering resources within and outside of direct control to complete projects.Required Qualifications- 10+ years of relevant actuarial health care experience, with particular emphasis in commercial health care pricing, rate filings and forecasting.- Demonstrated success in managing complex projects and processes involving business partners across the organization.- Experience managing teams of at least 10 employees.- Associate of the Society of Actuaries- Member of the American Academy of ActuariesCOVID RequirementsCOVID-19 Vaccination RequirementCVS Health requires certain colleagues to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including any booster shots if required), where allowable under the law, unless they are approved for a reasonable accommodation based on disability, medical condition, religious belief, or other legally recognized reasons that prevents them from being vaccinated.
