Job DescriptionThe Medicare Strategic Operations team engages with various business areas to drive cross-functional business strategies and performance, seeks to deliver breakthrough process performance improvements, and create enhanced constituent experience. The team leverages analytics and a hypothesis-driven approach to problem solving to uncover deep and actionable insights into business processes and problems. The Medicare Strategic Operations Lead Business Consultant will be responsible for establishing a robust and independent data, analytics, and reporting capability within Medicare Strategic Operations to support the complex and often novel business questions our initiatives seek to answer. This role resides within the Operational Excellence team and will supply rapid and enhanced analytical capabilities to the various improvement activities but will also bring those same capabilities to the full Medicare Strategic Operations team and their highly visible programs. When necessary, the colleague in this role may be called upon to lead their own initiatives that leverage their data capabilities and problem-solving abilities to deliver value for the Medicare business.The Medicare Strategic Operations Lead Business Consultant will be expected to:Serve as a data science, analytics, and reporting resource to Operational Excellence and other Medicare Strategic Operations teams to pull from varied structured and unstructured sources to drive insights into challenging and complex business problemsManage large and complex analytical projects from data exploration, model building, performance evaluation, testing and scale to deliver business valueCreate business applications to deliver analytics solutions to constituents and business leadersDefine and deliver analytical solutions in support of Medicare business initiatives that drive short-term and long-term objectives. Develop effective relationships and connection points with the various analytics and data science teams across the enterprise and gains recognition as a key member of the broader data and analytics community.Build optimal influential relationships with business area leaders / managers in order to achieve results and deliverables.Collaborate cross-functionally to lead strategic improvement initiatives including larger end-to-end efforts with high degree of complexity using disciplined, scientific problem-solving methodologiesDrive planning, logistics and overall project management of initiatives, performs diagnostics for initiatives with focus on data collection and analysis, provides project implementation support as neededDevelop metrics and tracking mechanisms for business processes as an aspect of assigned initiatives, integrates baseline and metrics tracking into initiative planning and implementation. Effectively devise and communicate requirements for digital solutions to assigned business improvement problemsManage project commitments to quality and on-time deliverables Manage conflicting priorities and multiple projects concurrentlyRequired Qualifications8-12+ years of experience with several of the following methodologies: Lean-Six Sigma, management consulting, project consulting, business process consulting, financial strategic analysis, mergers and acquisitions, data analysis, quality management, strategic business planning, and/or risk management consulting, organizational redesign.8-12+ years of experience developing and supporting cross-functional initiatives that improve operational performance, cost efficiency, and constituent experienceDemonstrated ability to apply structured and scientific problems solving to complex business process and constituent experience improvement problems.Demonstrated experience in crafting business solutions with experience in planning, assessing, and implementing changeExpertise with data analysis, modeling, and visualization tools such as R, Python, Minitab, and TableauExpertise with data systems tools such as SAS, SQL, and HadoopStrong Communication and Consulting skillsSolid business acumen accompanied by interpersonal savvy and team-oriented leadership skillsProfessionalism and organizational skills with the ability to work independently in potentially ambiguous situations work demandCOVID RequirementsCOVID-19 Vaccination RequirementCVS Health requires certain colleagues to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including any booster shots if required), where allowable under the law, unless they are approved for a reasonable accommodation based on disability, medical condition, religious belief, or other legally recognized reasons that prevents them from being vaccinated.
