Job DescriptionThe Sr Manager, Database Administrator individual possesses expert design and database administration skills. Support focuses on data architecture consulting, database design, implementation, and maintenance of physical data models and databases. Key activities include access method analysis, application consulting, performance tuning, device allocation, data organization, security, and statistical analysis and optimization. As a Database Administrator you will provide physical database support for Db2 LUW databases, ensuring the integrity and availability of the database. You are responsible for monitoring, analysis, and performance tuning at both the system and application levels.As part of the Database Administration team, you will work with a team who is responsible for business critical systems that utilize high availability solutions and where availability, reliability and stability are essential. You will help to ensure that all solutions of application and business issues are secure, compliant, and adhere to the minimum security baselines set forth by CVS Health.You will utilize your knowledge and experience with security, backup, recovery, and archiving to made recommendations regarding process improvements for logical and physical data structures. You will forecast long-range requirements for database administration, while documenting the database environment and support processes.You will participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation.Additional responsibilities of the Database Administrator include:-Building automation to improve legacy processes-MQ Queue creation and other MQ administration-Processing Database Support Requests in production and non production environments-Building and implementing database backup and recovery strategies-Preparing disaster recovery (DR) documentation and participating in DR activitiesRequired Qualifications- 5+ years' experience in the Information Technology (IT) field. - 5+ years' experience working as a Database Administrator, including experience at the design, operational, and system levels, along with the additional experience: - Expert level DB2-LUW production support DBA in a highly complex computing environment - Expert level DB2-LUW systems engineer, providing software currency based on vendor End of Support (EOS) timelines - Proficient in IBMs DB2-LUW HADR feature and utilizing Tivoli System Automation (TSA)-Expert level systems engineering database and replication design skillset in a complex computing environmentCOVID RequirementsCOVID-19 Vaccination RequirementCVS Health requires certain colleagues to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including any booster shots if required), where allowable under the law, unless they are approved for a reasonable accommodation based on disability, medical condition, religious belief, or other legally recognized reasons that prevents them from being vaccinated.
