Job DescriptionWould you like to join CVS Health, a Fortune 5 company, leading our multifaceted Underwriting Business Technology team? As the Actuarial Director for Underwriting Tools and Methodology, you will lead a team supporting key logic and assumptions in both our legacy underwriting tools supporting Caremark's 110 million customers, as well as in our new ecosystem following its upcoming launch. In this role, you will be frequently engaging with various stakeholders and frequently working under tight deadlines. Some of your key responsibilities will include:- Leading a 3-person actuarial team, including hiring, training, mentoring, developing, and evaluating team members, as well as maintaining high levels of employee engagement and succession planning for key person dependencies- Leading the Underwriting assumptions process, including ownership of key assumption updates and methodology, engagement with SMEs and leading deep dives where necessary and presenting to leadership teams- Overseeing computational engine support for future phases of the new Aligned for Profitability (AFP) ecosystem, a significant investment to enhance our UW capabilities- Supporting the development of change management initiatives and actuarial training related to the AFP ecosystem- Developing deep insight into various aspects the UW process (both the AFP and Legacy models) to aide in development of solutions to business or technical challenges that arise, including client-specific needs- Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders such as Finance, Product and Network to ensure UW methodology reflects our current business dynamics - Identifying and implementing opportunities of using our data differently To be successful, you will need to bring or develop a solid understanding the PBM business models, a customer-centric mindset, and an ability to analyze complex problems and drive solutions to completion. You will also need to be proven in your ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage tight deadlines with appropriate level of delegation to team members. As we embark into our new ecosystem, being able to develop and influence new processes that fit business needs will be critical to current and future success.
