IT Performance Test Architect

Job DescriptionRxConnect processes three million prescriptions per dayfor CVS Health. The mission of Performance Testing (PT)is to avoid unanticipated issues and adverse changeimpacts in Production by validating non-functionalrequirements. All software and hardware changes forRxConnect go through PT before being approved forProduction. Performance Architect will work with cross functionalgroups to develop and document performance teststrategies for new projects, releases, and initiatives.Ensure appropriate levels of performance testing areconducted before any changes are introduced to aproduction system.Develop Performance Test Strategy and gain consensuson PT test cases and performance criteria o Work closely with project Architects to determinePerformance Test scenarios o Define test completion and success criteria (i.e. entryand exit criteria)o Provide input and review of PT test cases Provide subject matter expertise to uncover issues withsystem infrastructure componentsAssess and lead adoption of new technologies beingincorporated into the application or infrastructureProvide troubleshooting expertise for on-demand analysisof PT issues Provide recommendations and observations for the PTtesting processLead formal reviews of PT test results with all pertinentparties (Architecture, Infrastructure, and Development) asappropriateParticipate in informal review of diagnostic tests Review and provide input to test tools design documents(e.g. load simulating tools)Review System Design Documents and Non-FunctionalRequirements DocumentsParticipate in project estimating in support of teamforecastingRequired Qualifications5+ years of IS/IT experience2+ years of performance engineering and performancetest principles and practices.COVID RequirementsCOVID-19 Vaccination RequirementCVS Health requires certain colleagues to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including any booster shots if required), where allowable under the law, unless they are approved for a reasonable accommodation based on disability, medical condition, religious belief, or other legally recognized reasons that prevents them from being vaccinated. Please note that in some states and roles, you may be required to provide proof of full vaccination or an approved reasonable accommodation before you can begin to actively work.Preferred QualificationsAdvanced degree or MBAExperience with multiple components of informationtechnology infrastructure, including multiple operatingsystems, distributed systems, Web-centric architectures,various hardware components (servers, disk and tapesubsystems), network infrastructure components, systemsmanagement tools and database management systems.Understanding of performance testing measures (CPUutilization, response time, network latency, think time etc.).Operational experience with at least two of the following:UNIX, Oracle, Networking, Middleware or Storage,Java/J2EE technologiesWork experience with Unix commands and shell scripting.Hands on experience with Web Services implementation(Apache Cxf or any other)Knowledge of oracle technologies Oracle 11g(Understanding of Query plans, AWR Reports etc.)Knowledge of concepts related to Heap, Memory, Threads,CPU and how they influence performance and scalabilityKnowledge of best practices for coding and design.Demonstrated experience writing proficient, performanceoriented codeExperience with performance engineering tools such asprofilers, heap/thread/verbose analyzerExperience with performance measurement tools such asAWR reports, JProbe, VMSTAT, NETSTATUnderstanding of any version management tool like SVN,VSS etc.Experience in performance testing and performanceanalysis of large scale applicationsKnowledge of performance life cycle in conjunction withdevelopment life cycleStrong Skills in Database Concepts, primarily OracleExposure to Basic Database Design, SQL QueriesVery strong interpersonal skills - including verbal andwritten communication, meeting management, conflictresolution, team building.Written communication skills: ability to provide clearinstructions, and concise updates.Strong technical acumen and problem solving skills:innovation, collaboration, risk/benefit analysis.Ability to work with little or no supervision and minimalassistance.Experience with multiple components of informationtechnology infrastructure, including multiple operatingsystems, distributed systems, Web-centric architectures,various hardware components (servers, disk and tapesubsystems), network infrastructure components, systemsmanagement tools and database management systems.EducationBachelor's degree or equivalent experienceBusiness OverviewBring your heart to CVS HealthEvery one of us at CVS Health shares a single, clear purpose: Bringing our heart to every moment of your health.
