Job DescriptionThe Senior Design Program Manager (DPM) is essential to ensuring that the Product Design team has the right people and processes in place to support the Strategy team, Enterprise Design System, and teams within Digital solutions and portfolios that support several agile release trains. By supporting the operational aspects of the design (UX) focused product teams, the senior DPM enables product management, design, and engineering to focus their time on designing products that help our users on their path to better health. A Senior Design Program Manager is focused on the system level at which digital products are created, from the initial state of ideation, all the way through delivery. They are system-thinkers that solve process improvement problems at the enterprise scale and lead the change across complex multi-disciplinary teams. They also facilitate the lateral flow of intra-Design organization teams by establishing systems that connect the multi-disciplinary operational functions of design i.e. long-term strategy work, Enterprise Design Systems, and internal foundational design work. They are strategic partners to the Design Department Directors and develop a roadmap of operational maturity through evaluations of the current state of production teams, strategic design inputs, and design system implementation, determining a path to optimize the efficiency of teams and the quality of the user experience.They ensure readiness for quarterly planning, focused primarily on robust user-centric Product and UX roadmaps, portfolio, solution and enterprise level coordination of these roadmaps. They plan for and support strategic and intra-solution and cross solution UX and Product initiatives that span multiple agile release trains, and coordinate work across all design disciplines, product and engineering within the enterprise. They develop and establish systems to drive the adoption and implementation of consistent design standards and cohesive, consistent E2E experiences.They develop and define internal Design planning methodologies and guidelines, lead the change for adoption across multiple trains and design teams, and drive engineering and product partners all in alignment of SAFe agile methodologies.Required Qualifications 5+ years experience with project management or agile methodologies and working effectively and efficiently in a high-matrix organization. 7+ years of experience leading program management efforts within enterprise scaled solutions, preferably those with dedicated UX or Design teams. 3+ years leader in design operations at the portfolio, program, or operations lead level Experience working with engineering and UX teams to build SAAS-based web applications and native iOS/Android apps is required Passion and deep interest in creating only the best User Experiences Experience working with executive-level stakeholders and portfolio managers Skilled in stakeholder management with varying audiences including leadership, product management, and user experience professionals (creative directors, UX designers, product/visual designers, copywriters, researchers) Effective at team communication, proactive problem solving, information gathering, developing new processes Proven ability to manage workflows, project plans and ship high-quality design Proven track record of developing or improving upon large-scale operational structures and processes to support the development and successful execution of new or existing design teams Passion for and knowledge of the industry standards and best practices of the evolving Design Operations fieldCOVID RequirementsCOVID-19 Vaccination RequirementCVS Health requires certain colleagues to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including any booster shots if required), where allowable under the law, unless they are approved for a reasonable accommodation based on disability, medical condition, religious belief, or other legally recognized reasons that prevents them from being vaccinated.
