Job DescriptionCVS is growing We currently have an important role as a Healthy Foods, Category Manager. This role is critical to CVS as healthy eating is a key component to managing one's overall health and wellbeing. The candidate selected for this role will be responsible for defining and evolving our Healthy Foods strategy across the consumable's portfolio. Our goal is to align consumables with our mission of helping people on a path to better health. Category Managers are in CVS Health's Merchandising department in our Woonsocket, RI Headquarters. Responsibilities include but not limited to:tResponsible for fully managing assigned merchandise categories (Healthy Foods) and its respective P&L contributions as well as managing select DSD vendors. tFull scope responsibility for attaining budgeted sales, gross margin, and building market share within their category. tOverall, responsible for achieving the merchandising objectives as they relate to the CVS strategic plan. tPositioned to work collaboratively with all Category Managers in our Consumables division. The candidate will activate healthy trends and deliver 'better for you' options to our customers. We are seeking candidates with strong written and oral presentation skills to enable our vision and gain alignment with multiple levels of this position, you'll have the opportunity to:tDeliver sales and margin goals in assigned category by attaining market share to include but not limited to: growth, sales, contribution margin, inventory turns and Gross Margin Return on inventory. tVendor management to include: collaborating, interviewing, and negotiating extensively with manufacturers and vendors to ensure product placement and product strategy that drive sales and profitability. The ideal candidate will:tExcel at finding and building new relationships with suppliers and companies ranging from global CPGs to start-ups. tWill display balance between growth with existing suppliers and attracting new strategic partnerships that set the direction for our consumables healthier positioning.tDevelop and implementing category plans (i.e., plan optimal SKU mix; Extracare loyalty program; weekly, seasonal, annual promotional programs) for merchandising programs from 1 to 3 years that reflect deep personal knowledge of our businesses, customers, and clients.tContinually sustain a strong understanding of current competition, as well as search out new competitive opportunities. tInitiating and executing strategic promotional strategies and marketing plans by collaborating internally with a team of CVS professionals (e.g., Inventory, Pricing, Promotion, Finance, Store Brands, Store Design and Store Operations). tMay allow the opportunity to oversee other colleague's including but not limited to Assistant Category Managers and Merchandising analysts.Must be able to travel 5-10%.Required Qualifications5+ years of experience developing and executing plans, review data, consumer insights and identify business opportunities to deliver expected financial and share results. 5+ years of experience collaborating with cross functional team members, internally and with suppliers. 5+ years of experience developing cohesive category strategies to deliver on both short-term and long term goals and adapts change based on consumer and market dynamics.
