Job DescriptionPosition supports the Dental and Vision Specialty Underwriting Department. Performs underwriting analysis and risk assessment to large groups customers at a mastery level. Assigned case/book of business will include multiple product types, funding arrangements and or rating methodologies.Prepares and delivers complex high profile new business or renewal quotes. Collaborates with Specialty Sales or Account Management on complex or high-profile cases. Independently reviews work for accuracy, identifies risk and makes recommendations to manage risk while growing or retaining membership. Utilizes advanced functionality of underwriting tools/systems and reference material to produce accurate quotes. Applies underwriting guidelines, negotiates financials and grants underwriting expectations/financial variances for their assigned cases within the authority limit for the position. Escalates exceptions outside the authority limit to manager. Produces timely and accurate customer specific documents, deliverables, and account related information. Ensures the pricing supports the quote strategy. Peer review other works for accuracy. Assist department with projects or work groups. Identifies and may lead process improvement through automation or process change. Identifies training gaps and recommends an appropriate course of action including development and delivery of training. Mentors less experience underwriters in development of technical skills or specific subject matter.#AetnaUWRequired Qualifications6+ years' experience in underwriting/accounting pricing methodologies and funding arrangements. Demonstrated success in collaborating with others to meet/exceed expectations. Demonstrated ability to utilize analytical and independent thinking skills. Demonstrated success prioritizing work and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
