Job DescriptionThe Senior Network Engineer is responsible to act as technical lead and subject matter expert on projects and business support requests of all sizes, from initiation through successful completion. You should be able to provide multiple solution approaches and be able to perform the engineering and drive the development required to implement any selected option. In alignment with Store Systems Management, you would also responsible for providing day to day coordination of activities pertaining to project direction, planning, estimating, project health and reporting, problem resolution and collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure project goals are met. In addition, the Senior Network Engineer provides Store Systems Management with regular status updates and proactively provides mentoring to individuals on best practices, continuous process improvement, and completion of customer satisfaction initiatives.Linux Systems Administrator / EngineerDuties/Responsibilities (Detailed): Administration of RedHat/CentOS Linux systems RHEL/CentOS 7 - SysV/init boot configuration RHEL/CentOS 7 - systemd boot management Extensive knowledge of BASH required Installing System updates Linux OS management Sudo Cron Syslog / Rsyslog Using RPM to install packages Using zypper to install packages Using YUM, Dpkg..etc. Setting file permissions Using ACLs / ACEs to manage file/directory access Differentiate between hard links vs soft links Linux boot process Understanding the boot process Troubleshooting boot issues Boot alternate operating systems Boot alternate disks MBR partitioning GRUB GPT partitioning GRUB2 Virtualization (3+ Years' Experience) Building and Maintaining VMs using KVM Creation of virtual machines & OS installation on VMguests Allocating resources to virtual machines Templates and cloning Configuration of datastores Network Bonding Pass-through devices LVM - Logical volume manager Add/expand/configure disks with LVM Disk partitioning with FDISK Disk partitioning with PARTED Docker Containers Open Source - Understand what is available, how to get, install, configure and support. Scripting BASH functions, loops, command line arguments Usage of AWK, SED, PERL, pipes Good knowledge of regular expressions Script debugging Networking Configuring network interfaces Clear understanding of the system files that impact network configuration Troubleshooting network connectivity issues Ping Traceroute TCP vs UDP Tcpdump Netstat Sockets Routing Firewalls / iptables Experience with Network Address Translation (NAT/PAT firewall configuration.) Experience with Network Masks and CIDR Notation DNS Configuring & managing DNS/BIND Conditional forwarding Master/Slave configurations DHCP Installing, configuring DHCP on Linux Dynamic dhcp pools SQUID proxy Installation & configuration caching only proxy server mySQL/MariaDB installation & configuration of a db backup & restore Basic understanding of SQL queries Apache installation & configuration integration with tomcat configuring virtual hosts security considerations generating key files, CSRs, self-signed certificates Tomcat - Installation & Configuration Experience with using, generating and managing SSL certificates NTP - configuration, validation, peers, servers and synchronization SSH Configuration Private / Public key generation & management NFS Sharing files/directories to specific clients Security considerations NFSv3 vs NFSv4 CUPS - Configuration, Managing printer queues, Remote printing & Troubleshooting printer Subsystems. General Troubleshooting Skills in the following areas: Disk failure Filesystem failure Network failure Hardware HP ProLiant DL360 server ILO management Raid configuration Comfortable installing Server hardware in Data CenterRequired Qualifications- 3+ years of experience as a SYSADM building and supporting RHEL / CentOS Server systems.- 3+ years experience in a large Enterprise Data Center environment.
