Job DescriptionThe Executive Director, Chief Scientific Officer, will lead the real world evidence analytics team within CVS Health. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all research, epidemiology, biostatistics, and publication strategy across CVS Health's Real World Evidence, Sentinel Surveillance activities, and Clinical Trial Recruitment. This individual will also lead the development of best-in-class analytic methods leveraging medical claims, pharmacy, Electronic Medical Record, patient reported outcomes, digital, and other data sources to support health economics studies, outreach and intervention effectiveness, and cost benefit analyses. This individual will work directly with clients to design, develop, execute and publish innovative real world studies leveraging CVS Health data and patient populations. This leader will be responsible for developing and leading a team to develop best-in-class epidemiology, biostatistics, outcomes research, and supporting analytics and operational skills, while also leveraging capabilities resident in other parts of Enterprise Analytics and CVS Health.The individual will also be responsible for extensive partnering across CVS Health to work closely with business operational units, medical affairs, analytics, trade, and legal to design scientific studies that meet the needs of external clients and also supports the research agenda within CVS Health. This individual will be market-facing in engaging with clients to demonstrate the scientific capabilities of CVS Health and developing research studies that address client needs to demonstrate real world evidence and health care outcome.This leader will: Develop the scientific strategy for RWE services across CVS Health Participate in the business dialogue at the leadership level across a range of business areas including identifying and executing on new business opportunities (sizing/ scoping/ business case development) in the CVS Health business, and leveraging and/ or developing new enabling analytic and scientific capabilities to measure outcomes and drive patient engagement and provider engagement. Oversees research, epidemiology, biostatistics, and publication strategy across CVS Health's Real World Evidence, Sentinel Surveillance activities, and Clinical Trial Recruitment. Lead development of best in class analytic methods leveraging medical claims, pharmacy, EMR, patient reported outcomes, digital, and other data sources to support health economics studies, outreach and intervention effectiveness, and cost benefit analysis Design, develop, execute and publish innovative real work studies leveraging CVS Health data and patient population. Develop and lead a team to develop best-in-class epidemiology, biostatistics, outcomes research, and supporting analytics and operational skillsRequired Qualifications 10+ years of Real World Evidence Analytics experience 7+ years of leadership experience with direct reports Prior experience leading analytics and identified teams in a large organization. Ability to provide both hands on and leadership of key scientific functions, including epidemiology, biostatistics, analytics, and predictive modeling. This leader will have a strong innovation track record of developing, piloting, and scaling analytic methods and approaches with external customers. Ability to work across a complex organization to coordinate a research and scientific agenda solutions across capabilities and business functions, including pharmacy operations, Minute Clinic, health care operations, behavior change and patient engagement, data strategy, and clinical systems Outstanding skills in developing analytics and scientific capabilities that power real world evidence and outcomes research that can accelerate clinical trials, reduce the cost of product or drug development, support economic insights to evaluate health outcomes, clinical insights to understand safety and effectiveness, and population insights to proactively manage patient health Proven strategic health care analytics leadership: The ideal candidate will have significant experience developing new health care analytics and clinical research. o Visionary change agent: The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking health care outcomes visionary in the fast paced world of life sciences, health care outcomes research, and clinical trial/ support. This executive will be a vocal advocate for the application of scientific approaches to meet client needs and objectives.
