You will be an integral member of the U.S. Revenue Accounting team, responsible for proper revenue accounting/maintenance of related company policy/compliance with Corporate SOX requirements and supporting various system implementation and ad hoc projects/initiatives. Essential Responsibilities: Responsible for the completion of revenue accounting activities (e.g., develop, implement, and maintain accounting system, policies and procedures to ensure revenue is recognized and reported in accordance with U.S. GAAP) to support the month and quarter end close process Collaborate with various business partners to drive the quarterly Gross-to-Net accrual estimation process, a critical process for the business. Analyze periodical financial results and conduct ad-hoc variance and trend analysis to gain insight on business activities Prepare quarterly reporting schedules for internal and external reporting purposes Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies Develop and implement ideas for continuous process and system improvements Support various system implementation and/or ad hoc projects/initiatives as needed Knowledge, Experience and Skills Important skills, capabilities and prior experience requirements include: Bachelor''s degree + 6 years of relevant work experience or Masters'' degree + 4 years of relevant work experience CPA and/or MBA Hands-on experience in a commercial stage Life Sciences company a strong plus Knowledge of key reporting financial systems (Oracle, Hyperion, SAP, etc.) and MS Office Strong quantitative and analytical skills including familiarity with finance and accounting terms Proven ability to work effectively in in ambiguous situations and team environment Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently under tight deadlines Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact and influence personnel across functions and levels, including Management A positive, authentic character who is a natural team player and relationship builder A genuine appreciation for diversity and inclusion For jobs in the United States: As an equal opportunity employer, Gilead Sciences Inc. is committed to a diverse workforce.
