We boldly go.Thermo King is hiring a Quality, Productivity & Aftermarket Engineering Leader in Minneapolis, MN. This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule and will be based out of our Bloomington location. Flexible work from home options available. The Quality, Productivity & Aftermarket Engineering Leader is responsible for Quality Driven Productivity (QDP) and the administration, implementation and management of engineering design projects and the associated team members, focused specifically on Quality, Productivity & Supply chain resiliency projects. This Leader is accountable to achieve overall business goals desired within the Quality, Delivery and Cost requirements and will support & lead strategy and development of organizational processes to improve project speed and effectiveness, including analyzing & supporting correction of systemic and/or organizational gaps. This leader also responsible for Aftermarket engineering and engineering support for Aftermarket growth opportunities. The role will also coordinate with global engineering and cross-functional business partners.RESPONSIBILITIES Lead cross functional teams of engineers, technicians, mfg. engineers, product managers, and representative from procurement, field/corporate service, quality, corporate commodity, production planning, and others in the development of Quality and Productivity improvements. Manage product development projects (utilizing TTPDP, PPM, and the TT BOS) to meet deliverables for time, quality, performance, and cost, coordinating high level project plans, managing risk, and driving project success. Coordinate resource requirements of department staff regarding projects and other business support needs. Work with Platform Manager and other Team Leads to prioritize overall requirements and manage resource assignments accordingly. Provide leadership stakeholders and project sponsors with appropriate, timely, and accurate updates of project status and plans"”including reports, metrics, Gate Review records, and resource requirements. Maintain project management database with relevant and accurate documentation, information, and data. Communicate effectively with teams and within management structure to facilitate workflow and resolve project barriers and issues. Provide leadership and development to your engineering staff. Assign objectives/projects, evaluate performance, and provide positive/constructive feedback to your team members. Work with the team to foster a Winning Culture through career/development planning and initiatives that improve engagement and celebrate team accomplishments. Coach and mentor team members to develop their overall capabilities, both technical non-technical. Continue and strengthen the development of a strong accountability culture. This includes strong technical rigor, world class project management/execution, and effective product/project cost management. Continue and strengthen the team''s problem-solving culture. This includes critical thinking using the A3 methodology and three-legged (issue, detection, systemic) root cause. Insure rigorous capture and deployment of technical insights and lessons learned. Develop and deploy standard work business processes pertaining to Quality and Productivity. Work with engineering management to drive strategic programs and initiatives aimed at improving project efficiency, communication, and robustness of outcomes. Lead aftermarket engineering team and provide engineering support for growth opportunities. Develop strong and effective working relationships with your operations, quality, service, and engineering partners for goal setting, project execution, and a holistic methodology for setting and meeting aggressive quality/productivity goals. Effectively communicate and influence senior leaders on goal settings, goal execution, and risk management. Manage all QDP & AM engineering expenditures within budget. Interact with Thermo King Dealers and Customers as needed.QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor''s Degree in Engineering and at least 7 years work experience with product design projects required.ESSENTIAL SKILLS or KNOWLEDGE Demonstrated technical project management experience. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams toward identified goals. HVAC or Refrigeration experience strongly desired. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams toward identified goals Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication, both verbal and written Leadership / Initiative Planning / Organization Business Focus Problem Solving / Decision Making Risk Mitigation Familiarity with project management and scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project desired. Product lifecycle management tools (ex. Windchill) desired.Base Compensation Range is $102,000 to $211,500. Total compensation for this role also will include an incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base salary range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
