Position Summary The position is a Corporate Counsel role in the company''s Legal organization, but will be cross-functional, working with the company''s General Counsel and other senior members of the Legal organization, as well as directly with the company''s business development, finance, investor relations and corporate communications groups. Responsibilities The primary responsibilities of the position will be supporting Horizon''s business development and financing transactions, SEC reporting and compliance, corporate governance and corporate communicationsOther duties may include support of license and collaboration transactions, occasional contract negotiations and other duties Qualifi c ations and S k ills Requ i re d : A Juris Doctor degree and bar admission in the U.S.A minimum of 5 to 6 years of experience as a corporate attorney, including at least 3 to 4 years experience and training at an Am Law 100 law firmFunctional knowledge and skills in the following areas:Mergers and acquisitionsLicense and collaboration transactionsSEC reporting and complianceCorporate governancePreference given for experience working with biotechnology companiesBasic understanding of other general corporate areas, including contract negotiations and financePro-active, self-motivated and highly organized, with experience managing multiple projects and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environmentWillingness to work cross-functionally and collaborativelyStrong project management skillsStrong collaboration skillsAbility to prioritise and manage a diversified workload, often to strict deadlinesExcellent judgment, strong initiative and attention to detailProfessional demeanorStrong interpersonal skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHorizon Core Values & Competencies: Growth Manages Ambiguity Strategic Mindset Demonstrates Self-awareness Cultivates Innovation Develops Talent Accountability Drives Results Ensures Accountability Decision Quality Transparency Courage Collaboration Instills Trust Horizon requires all U.S. employees to be fully vaccinated, as a condition of employment, with either Pfizer (fully approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration), Moderna or Johnson & Johnson (currently granted emergency-use authorization by the FDA).
