Remote- Travel requiredLLPRLineage Logistics is the largest temperature-controlled warehouse network in the world, playing a critical role in multiple global supply chains. We store and transport temperature-sensitive commodities (about 80 billion pounds per year) in a large network of warehouses, trucks and rail cars. Our inventories include everything from Boeing''s carbon fiber to your 4th of July baby-back ribs.Lineage''s Automation Systems teams are responsible for the successful delivery of the automation system in greenfield, expansion and retrofit automated projects across the global Lineage business. That includes through all stages of the project from feasibility, concept, engineering, procurement, delivery, launch and operations. The Automation Systems teams work very closely with our Data Science team, our software development teams, our Network Optimizations and PMO teams to deliver projects ranging from a value of $10mm to $200mm.As Automation Software Integration Engineer you will act as part of the Automation Systems team during the project execution phase, testing and commissioning phase and launch to Go-Live. The System Integration team is responsible for the integration of the WCS software on site and interfacing that system with the mechanical installation, automation controls layer (PLC) and the operational business processes facilitated by the Warehouse Management System. The Warehouse Control System (WCS) is positioned between the automation controls layer and the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to support the highly mechanized and automated logistics facilities. Within the Lineage software landscape WCS is responsible for location and inventory management, real-time visualization for installation components and transport movements combined with transport and storage optimization. Almost every movement made in an automated facility within Lineage is controlled by the WCS. The projects in scope are new build or existing (retrofit) highly mechanized and automated facilities located around the globe. You will start a project with deeply understanding the mechanical installation layout and the logistic processes that need to be facilitated by the WCS, functional requirements. Based on this knowledge you will be responsible for the setup and configuration of the WCS project software with the standard components. This includes the layout configuration, transport routing, storage rules, setting storage and retrieval strategies. Second task in the project will be defining the test cases and test if the WCS project software meets the functional requirements. The testing tasks are supported by emulation and simulation software tooling during "in the office" testing. The test cases are then repeated and executed with the mechanical installation on-site.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Setup and configuration of Warehouse Control System project softwareDefine and execute tests based on functional requirementsOn-site testing for systems integration and Go-LiveAct as a liaison between the Automation Systems teams and Automation Software WCS teams (NL) to continue and sustain the core competency and skills required to successfully test, commission, launch, operate and maintain the automation solution.Document training manuals and deliver training to the operational teamsProvide support to existing automated facilities to ensure smooth and continuous operation.EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE Bachelor''s degree in relevant field or equivalent in education and/or work experience.Experience in an (automated) logistics environmentREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to deliver on commitments (high quality, on time, with commercial viability) while working on multiple projects concurrentlyExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interface with and understand technical experts in the fields of safety and compliance, quality, logistical operations, automation systems and related software applications and processes.Experience with working as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of systems: WMS, WCS, LMS and PLC controls associated with automation solution integration and managementProficient computer skills including, Excel, MS Word, PowerPointProven ability to effectively manage accountability of self and othersMust be willing to work non-standard hours to support delivery of time-critical project deadlinesAbility to travel 50% of time, or as business neededWhy Lineage?This is an excellent position to begin your career path within Lineage!
