Job Description

The Laboratory Department is seeking a Full-time Phlebotomist III to join their team at the Everett Clinic. Under general supervision, is responsible for properly obtaining specimens, properly labeling and transporting patient specimens. Ensures accurate identification of patient specimens to assist in the timely reporting of laboratory results. Performs a variety of support functions (non-technical and technical) including some back lab testing.The Phlebotomist II is responsible for and not limited to: Venipuncture and specimen collections performed accurately and timelyFollow Venipuncture standard of work (SOW) at all timesFollow Processing SOW at all times, making positive identification of all patient specimensGive proper patient collection instructions i.e. urineInstruct patients in post phlebotomy careMaintain a safe and healthy work environment by complying with safety regulationsProperly dispose of bio-hazardous materialsObtain specimens for microbiology testingOrder sufficient supplies to perform the workload and to rotate stock and prevent the use of outdated suppliesGreet and register patients in a polite and professional mannerFollow Reception standard of work (SOW) at all timesProblem solve efficiently and in a timely mannerLocate missing lab orders and/or specimensCompetent and efficient phone skillsPerforming EKG''s and miscellaneous services for our patientsCleaning and disinfecting work areasRotating stock items to avoid outdated supplies, maintaining inventoriesRequired Experience and Credentials:High School diploma or GEDCompletion of 6-month Phlebotomy Certificate program through an accredited school.Minimum of one year phlebotomy experienceMedical Assistant-Phlebotomist (MA-Pbt) certification with WA State to perform capillary, and venous invasive procedures for blood withdrawal under the supervision of a health care practitionerBLS CertificationUnitedHealth Group requires all new hires and employees to report their COVID-19 Vaccination statusFull COVID- 19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role.UHG will adhere to all federal and local regulations as well as client requirement and will obtain necessary proof of vaccinations prior to employment to ensure compliance. Employees are required to screen for symptoms using an approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe.Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a worksite building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained.
