The acute care hospital is also attached to Peyton Manning Children''s Hospital. We provide post-surgical and anesthesia care to both outpatients and inpatients following a variety of surgeries and procedures. Care is provided for the adult patient population but does not exclude care for pediatric patients when necessary. We care for patients with a variety of acuity levels and age ranges. including critical care patients, as we are the backup critical care area when any of the three adult critical care units are not able to receive their patients directly. We care for post-surgical pediatric patients after hours, and on the weekends. We are committed to providing an excellent surgical experience, thereby allowing for an easier and less stressful stay for patients and their caregivers.As an RN in the area, you will provide direct nursing care and support for post-operative patients. This Phase I recovery phase of the surgical experience extends from the time the patient is transferred out of the operating room, until they successfully meet discharge criteria. At that point, patients either proceed to an Inpatient status or Phase II recovery where they are discharged home. Expectations are that careful assessments and immediate interventions are provided while assisting patients to recover quickly, safely, and as comfortably as possible. What You Will Do: Supervise, coordinate, and provide leadership while directing activities of clinical/non-clinical or interdisciplinary teams of licensed and non-licensed caregivers and support staff delivering mquality patient care and ensuring implementation of clinical objectives in an assigned area.Responsibilities:Assess daily patient care needs and develop and distribute patient care assignments of clinical/non-clinical or an interdisciplinary team of licensed and non-licensed caregivers and support staff, ensuring that population appropriate patient care is accordance with the applicable State Nurse Practice Act, delegate appropriate duties to clinical/non-clinical or interdisciplinary teams of licensed and non-licensed caregivers and support staff based on their assessed skills and abilities.Gather information from other members of the clinical/non-clinical or interdisciplinary team and uses this data to plan for the care of all patients on the unit for the shift.Evaluate the care delivered by other licensed and non-licensed caregivers and support staff by providing direct and immediate feedback and coaching, ongoing verbal and written feedback to the clinical/non-clinical leader on the performance of staff and evaluating the performance trends under his/her direction and recommend and participate in corrective/disciplinary action as required.Participate in the hiring process for new staff members assigned to the shift by conducting interviews and making hiring recommendations to the clinical/non-clinical leader. What You Will Need: Licensure / Certification / Registration:BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date required.One or more of the following required:Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Registered Nurse credentialed from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Education:Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.Work Experience:1 year of experience required.
