Job Description:Role Summary/Purpose:The AVP, Senior Software Development Engineer needs to have extensive knowledge of programming languages, the environments in which software are developed and operated and be well versed in software development lifecycle. The AVP, Senior Software Development Engineer can be front-end, back-end or full-stack engineers, who is proficient in:Programming and codingFundamentals of computer scienceDesign and architectureAlgorithms and data structuresInformation analysisDebugging softwareTesting softwareProficiency in integration patternsOutstanding communication skills and an ability to work collaborativelyThis position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. We''re proud to offer you choice and flexibility.Essential Responsibilities:Design, develop and install software solutions to meet business and technical requirements.Work in a constantly evolving environment, due to technological advances and the strategic direction of the organization.Create, maintain and audit software systems - built on high standards of availability, stability, security and performance - in alignment with architects and analysts. Incorporate resiliency into software design and vestigate problem areas. Improve system quality by identifying issues and common patterns and developing standard operating procedures.Test software systems to diagnose and resolve system faults; Improve existing codebases and peer review code changes.Partner with technology leaders in adherence to technology strategy and roadmap.Follow software development lifecycle.Ensure that the software that is written is easy to integrate to, for internal and external consumption.Design and implement monitoring, alerting and appropriate metrics to track and report performance and operational efficiency of software.Research and recommend on evolving technologies, including mobile, Cloud and social media.Drive technical innovation and efficiency in software operations via simplification and automation.Create technical specifications and standards.Mentor and coach junior developersResponsible for approving pull requestsPerform other duties and/or special projects as assignedQualifications/Requirements:Bachelor''s degree and a minimum 6 years of experience with application development OR, in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED and 8 years of application development experienceMinimum of 8 years of full stack development using Spring, other JEE technologies, Spring REST API and UI technologies and frameworksMinimum 3 year of experience in application designDesired Characteristics:Strong working knowledge of fintech Industry as it relates to consumer financingDeep experience building UI using popular frameworksWorking knowledge of the mobile industry including HTML5, Native languages, mobile webDeep experience building and consuming web services via SOAP and RESTDeep Agile expertiseCritical thinking, problem solving and creativityExperience with dependency management tools like Maven or GradleExperience with continuous integration environments like JenkinsExperience building and deploying application on Pivotal Cloud FoundryExperience with writing unit, integration, and UI test casesExperience in generating Open-API / Swagger specificationsWorking knowledge of API gatewaysEligibility Requirements:You must be 18s years or olderYou must have a high school diploma or equivalentYou must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding processYou must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months'' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months'' time in position before they can post.
