Inventory Specialist

JOB SUMMARY: This function serves as on-site labor in the logistics area of the storeroom; including receiving, stocking, issuing, inventory accuracy, cycle counting, client interface, customer service and computer transaction entry. The focus of this position is to service the client with their parts and inventory needs including: locate stock and deliver stock items to their destination outside of storeroom upon request or per Kanban, receive stock, issue materials to client, and use systems to track inventory as well as to locate and verify inventory for the client. This position is a regular, frequent point of contact with the client and requires a strong, effective customer service capability. Essential Functions:Follow all site Safety and Security Procedures; perform all assignments and tasks in a safe manner and report any unsafe or potentially unsafe working conditions to management immediatelyProvide professional level of customer service to all internal and external customers and report customer matters and/or concerns to supervisor promptlyEnsure compliance with established internal control procedures and SOPsUnpack purchased material, verify product against packing slip and PO and enter receiving and inventory information into the appropriate software system or systems, including any new part creation as neededIssue materials to client as requested; pulling, staging and kitting material as requiredPlaces received material into proper storage location; perform tagging, repacking, delivering and special handling as necessaryIssue returns for unused material per SOP guidelinesPrepare material for return to vendor and prepare parts to be shipped out for repair, per SOPsPerform cycle counts and report stock balance discrepancies to Manager and Buyer for resolutionMaintain inventory accuracy by count and location; replace barcodes and process relocations in ERP systemVerify on-hand inventory quantities to accurately identify reorder needs on every itemClean and organize the storeroom on a regular basis, including sweeping, scraping, etc. maintaining minimum standard requiredSupport corporate initiatives and assist with any special projects assignments as requiredRequired Skills:Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Excel; ability to learn and demonstrate proficiency in new software systemsAbility to learn and demonstrate proficiency in part identificationExcellent customer service skillsSolid organization and detail-orientation skillsAbility to follow proceduresProblem analysis and resolutionDemands accuracy of self and othersProfessional phone demeanor This employer is a corporate member of myGwork - LGBTQ+ professionals, the business community for LGBTQ+ professionals, students, inclusive employers & anyone who believes in workplace equality.
