Position Overview ABOUT THE POSITION:The Senior Court Administration Assistant supports the Jury Department by providing complex judicial support to develop and maintain comprehensive records, reports, accounts, or files related to the activities of the Judicial Branch. The ability to work independently and utilize critical thinking to select and apply the proper established policies and procedures while solving a wide variety of complex issues is paramount to success in this role.We offer generous paid time off, paid sick leave, and 10 paid holidays! Standard Judicial Branch business hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Note: The pay range listed above ($17.50 - $20.25) reflects the expected ENTRY pay range for this position based on experience and equity within the Judicial Branch. Position QualificationsWe recognize your time is valuable, so please apply if you meet the following required qualifications : Education: High school diploma or GED Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible legal, court, or administrative assistant level experience OR Combined education and experience qualifications: Post-secondary education may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Our Preferred Candidate has: Previous experience in the Jury departmentBilingual in Spanish/English Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Knowledge of:Court policies and proceduresLegal terminologyCustomer services standards and proceduresRules and Statutes regarding grand juries Skill in:Proficient use of MS Office productsEffective written and oral communicationEstablishing and maintaining professional working relationships Ability to:Multi-task and prioritize workload while handling high volume and time-sensitive tasksWork with large groups of peopleEssential Job Tasks(This is not an all-inclusive list of all job duties that may be required; employees will be required to perform other related duties as assigned.) Check-in in and provide an orientation to prospective jurorsMonitors and tracks jury pools and reporting groupsContacts jurors with a Failure to Appear statusResponsible for compiling accurate tracking documentation for court case developmentPrioritizes and processes work according to policies and procedures, as well as cross-training within other unitsPerforms quality control checks on work completed by the unitsCalculates and issues summonses for Superior Courts, City Courts, and Justice CourtsAnswers inquiries from internal and/or external customers and explains complex legal processes and proceduresEvaluates, recommends, and implements changes to work methods and procedures that increase efficiencyMay oversee and/or audit the work of other staff Working conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak clearly and hear; see details of objects that are less than a few feet away; sit for long periods of time; stand, walk, use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally push, pull or lift up to 20 pounds.Judicial Branch facilities are located throughout Maricopa County. This position may be reassigned to other locations. Assignments will be made based upon the needs of the department.
