This person must exhibit mature judgment when dealing with others in order to maintain morale and goodwill of team members and customers. A high level of confidentiality is necessary in this position.ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be required of this position and will be assigned as needed. Production Process Inspections: Assists in performing various testing on partially finished and finished product (e.g., UPC scans, ink rub tests, break-open force tests, etc.). Assists departments in complying with established sampling procedures Completes production quality runs throughout shift Customer/Internal Complaint Follow-Up System: Assists with the following as necessary: Customer/internal complaint database (Access software). Inputting data into computer; coordinating with Sales, Inside Sales, and Customers, external or internal, as necessary to ensure a complete understanding of complaint. Defer complaint to responsible department in accordance with Customer or Internal Complaint Procedures. Historical Job Information System: Ensure documentation and coordination of all information reported under this system. This will also require direct contact with employees, supervisors, and management. Dead File Processing: Manages this system with the QA Coordinator. Retrieves job boxes from Scheduling at completion of job. Reviews samples and takes corrective action as required. Ensures control of job-related documents used for reference on future jobs, historical job information (load tags, factory tickets, SPC data sheets, and other information deemed necessary to retain) in conjunction with dead file processing procedures. Press Approval Sheets: Review printed sheets to approved color proof and prior press approval (if available). Replace press okay sheets as needed. File press sheets in appropriate press slot. Machine Trial Run Testing: Ensure specifications are clear on factory ticket. Ensure testing is conducted at the required processes. Input data into PWI Corporate testing database. Set specifications in specs with customer service. GMI/Color Management Programs: Supports press crews in running GMI jobs as needed. Ensures all press sheets are submitted. QMS System: Manages the food safety with the QA ISO Analyst which includes: Being responsible for developing and maintaining all food safety procedures. Responsible to ensure compliance with prerequisite and food safety programs. Developing and maintaining cleaning work orders for all departments. Generating and closing food safety work orders weekly. Input food safety work order information into database. Controlling the food safety documents. Administering monthly Internal Audits. Reviewing audit violations to identify areas needing improvement and/or areas which show repeat violations. Participating in and being the recording member for the Safety Team meetings, taking the minutes for all meetings. Serving as the central point of contact for monitoring corrective action and audit findings for food safety as well as questions regarding the food safety system. Maintaining the integrity of the entire food safety program. Must follow all applicable Quality Management Systems procedures and understand the responsibilities of compliance to all of the program requirements. The Quality Management Systems include at a minimum, ISO, Food Safety, and Sustainability. Other Duties: Calibrates all test and measuring equipment used to determine product specification compliance, in accordance with national standards, on a regularly scheduled timetable and documents results Other Duties: Serves as ISO and food safety Auditor to help ensure compliance to each standard. Serves as auditor on Internal Audit team to audit all GP processes to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2008 requirements. Pulls Customer required samples, press sheets, color standards as requested. Serves as a food safety Auditor to ensure compliance with the food safety Standard. Completes cross-training with all Quality Assurance department employees to be able to fill in for people when absent as determined by QA Manager. Persons in this position must be very proactive and results oriented, and be dedicated to continuous process improvement. Must effectively communicate with other Quality Assurance employees passing on information from shift to shift and job to job. Must have above average to strong computer skills, especially in software programs Word and Excel and must have the ability to learn other, more complicated software programs quickly. Ability to maintain a professional attitude, above average oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving skills, and an excellent attendance record are absolute musts for this position. Must communicate with all levels and all types of individuals and personalities. Must be able to handle multiple projects at one time and be able to prioritize them. Must follow all applicable ISO procedures and make recommendations for system improvements as identified. Must be capable of keeping accurate records, including the completion of all required forms; and the accurate use of different measuring devices including tape measures, and all other applicable gauges for your responsibilities.SAFETY EFFORTS AND MOTIVATION: Responsible for knowing and following all PaperWorks safety rules. Proper and safe conduct is encouraged in and around the facility and machinery. It is required that each employee use proper personal safety protection in all areas posted that PPE is required. It is expected that any major quality deficiencies be reported to the immediate superintendent, supervisor, or lead person, Quality Assurance department, and/or the Vice President of Manufacturing.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and other departments.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of complex statistical process control formulas, charts and graphs. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to accurately use and read a standard tape measure using 16th and 32nd measurements.REASONING ABILITY: Analytical skills are needed for this position. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several variables and report findings to appropriate parties.
