Find your future with us.This requisition represents an exciting opportunity for a Mission Systems Software Engineering Manager (Level K) to join a proprietary program within the Phantom Works Division of Boeing Defense, Space, & Security (BDS) business organization working closely with Bombers & Fighters and Autonomous Systems organization and located in Berkeley, MO. This position will lead and grow a team of software engineers developing real time Mission Systems software.While the specific details of this program cannot be disclosed in this forum, we are developing a variety of software components in support of this program specifically, supporting open architecture design constructs, modern software development tools and processes with multi-use across Boeing Mission System programs.The selected candidate will work closely with the Mission Systems Analysis, Integration & Test (AIT) teams in order to develop and document of complex architectures and designs; execute software development per requirements, algorithms and interface definitions; as well as integrating software products developed by other Boeing teams or suppliers. In addition, the candidate will also oversee, process development, agile development plans, DevSecOps, test planning & execution, and model-based engineering as it relates to requirements documentation. The candidate will manage a typical team size of 8 to 15 software engineers. Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements: This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Post-Start. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):3+ years of experience leading or managing software projects and/or teamsExperience developing mission systems software on aircraft platformsExperience with large scale C, C++, C, Python, Java, or Ada system developmentExperience with requirements, design, development, and test of software systems productsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience with embedded software architecture/development/designExperience developing on the Linux platform and WindowsExperience developing and documenting software architecture using Cameo, or similar Model Based Systems Engineering toolsExperience with Open Architecture standards, such as OMSExperience with DevSecOps and/or complex software build plansExperience with integrating/utilizing AvionX Defense Mission Computing (DMC) softwareExperience working on an Agile team using Agile methodologies and tools such as JiraAn understanding of Earned Value Management and the ability to forecast cost/scheduleTypical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years'' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years'' related work experience, Master+7 years'' related work experience)In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standardTravel: Some travel may be required for this position, but will be 10% or less.Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.
