The Associate Embedded Systems Software Engineer will support design, development, maintenance, integration, and testing of critical laboratory systems including existing radar and electromechanical systems. This engineer will also be responsible for supporting future, cutting-edge technologies in a nationally-recognized lab. The successful candidate will enjoy working in an agile, fast paced, team-oriented environment, while working creatively in all phases of the software development life cycle.Position responsibilitiesDevelops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systemsDevelops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional electromechanical software systemDevelops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are metPerforms software project management and software supplier management functionsDevelops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metricsExecutes and documents software research and development projectsServes as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulationsWorks under general directionThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):2+ years of experience in developing, documenting and maintaining complex architectures, requirements, algorithms, software-to-hardware interfaces and designs for software systems2+ years of experience designing, developing, coding, testing and debugging system software2+ years of experience in software architecture and design of embedded software systems2+ years of experience with Linux and Windows operation systems2+ years of Software coding experience using LabView, Test Stand, C/C, Python, FPGA Verilog/VHDL, and/or Matlab Signal2+ years of experience do you have in designing and implementing Visual C++/MFC based GUI ApplicationsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Active US Secret or Top-Secret Security ClearanceExperience with Windows development environmentExperience working in an Agile development environmentExperience with Git, Jenkins, JIRA, Version OneExperience with Real-time or embedded software developmentModeling & Simulation software development experienceExperience with aging software languagesTypical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years'' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).
