Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Lead Satellite DSP Algorithms Engineer (Level 4), to join the team in El Segundo, CA.As a Lead Satellite DSP Algorithms Engineer, you will design and develop state-of-the-art, space-based communication systems for commercial, civil and/or national security programs. You will be part of a highly-motivated team that works with domestic or international customers on their latest satellite systems.Project assignments typically span the unit life cycle, from internal trades, concept studies and system definition, to satellite unit development and test. Candidates will belong to or lead a systems engineering team interacting with customers, suppliers, program management, integration and test engineers, and senior technologists.Position Responsibilities:Designing and developing next generation RF and digital satellite communication systemsDeveloping and verifying multi-rate, fixed-point signal processing algorithmsConducting performance analysis of signal processing modelsPerforming waveform development and characterizationPerforming trade studiesExploring application of new technology solutions to aerospace problemsSupporting HDL-level design and verificationPerforming detailed system design and verification activitiesLeading teamsThis position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will have the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule, performing work weekly onsite and remotely. Please note that the hybrid work schedule is subject to program/business needs.This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor''s Degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics5+ years of experience with Matlab or Simulink5+ years of experience in Digital Signal Processing or Digital Communications3+ years of experience in systems engineering concepts (requirements definition, allocation, verification, architecture design and trade design)Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience leading teams of engineersExperience working with ASICs or FPGAsExperience with lab equipment (oscilloscope, waveform generator, spectrum analyzer)Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years'' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years'' related work experience, Master+7 years'' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Relocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
