Job Description

It''s an exciting time at Stoughton Trailers as we continue to grow and build for the future. Our Evansville plant is looking for an additional manufacturing engineer with several years of experience. As a mechanical engineer at Stoughton, you will effectively support the manufacturing process, manufacturing equipment and new product introduction for all plants. This includes the conception and development of solutions for daily interruptions, continuous process improvement and the coordination with cross functional teams for the implementation of equipment and procedures to maximize production performance.Additional responsibilities: Provide technical support for plant production by responding to line disruptions and issuesImprove manufacturing efficiently by analyzing and planning work flows, space requirements and equipment layoutsDesign and build custom tooling and fixturesConfer with Manufacturing Project engineers and Product engineering concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methodsWork with vendors on specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, tooling or partsManage all projects through planning, development and implementationCollaborate with other Manufacturing Engineers to ensure manufacturing consistency across the corporationUse 3D CAD when needed for tooling developmentUse 2D CAD when needed for plant layout adjustmentsConduct production time studies as neededBSME or equivalent 4 year degree3-7 years of production manufacturing experienceDemonstrated knowledge and background in manufacturingProficient in the use of 3D and 2D CADProficient in MS Office software useStrong analytical abilities, creative and practicalCapacity to work fast and in an efficient mannerUnderstands computer controls programming, software development and PLCsAbility to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform complex system testsUnderstanding of Machine tool operationsMachine tool building principles and practices, including OSHA & safetyMust be able to perform each essential function and responsibility of the job satisfactorily in accordance with company productivity, quality, and safety requirementsProficient use of SolidWorksProficient use of DraftSightExperience in designing manufacturing tools and fixturesExperience in Kaizen eventsKnowledge and understanding of 5SRequiredPreferredJob IndustriesCustomer Service
