Find your future with us.Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) seeking a motivated, talented Associate Structural Design Engineer to join the Northwest Design Center in Tukwila, WA. Our team is focused on designing and supporting a wide range of Boeing products and programs local to the Pacific Northwest across the globe including Mobility and Surveillance Programs, Commercial Aircraft and Commercial Derivative Aircraft, Satellites, Space Launch Systems, and many others. Join a team focused on writing the future of aviation!Position ResponsibilitiesDevelops, integrates and documents structural requirements to establish the system design.Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product''s environment.Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.Works under general direction.The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore "US Person" status as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.These positions are expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location(s).Basic QualificationsBachelor degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.5+ years engineering experience - NOTE: A relevant post graduate degree (MS/PhD in Aerospace, Mechanical or Civil engineering) can substitute for relevant work experienceExperience performing hand calcs, industry CAD system (e.g. PRO-E, SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD, NX/Teamcenter, CATIA/ENOVIA), FEM software (ABAQUS, PATRAN/NASTRAN, Stresscheck, Hyperworks), MS OfficePreferred Qualifications3+ years military aircraft or commercial aircraft experienceAbility to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Person status. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start may be required.Typical Education & ExperienceBachelor''s degree and typically 5 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification or a Master''s degree with typically 3 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
