Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Space Vehicle Systems Engineer (level 2, 3, or 4) to join the team in El Segundo, CA. The selected candidate will design and develop state-of-the-art satellite systems for space-based applications for commercial, civil and/or national security programs. As system engineers we apply common products, processes and tools across subsystems in pursuit of programmatic objectives.Position Responsibilities:Works across subsystems within the space segment to apply common products, processes and tools to engineersResponsible for identifying unassigned scope and ensuring it gets properly distributedParticipates in the identification and resolution of cross-functional technical issuesMay participate in system and segment level tradesMay lead segment level duties such as Risk, Issue and Opportunity (RIO) Board or Engineering Review Board (ERB)Ensures contractual compliance by integrating the statement of work (SOW) and technical specification into the IPT work flowParticipates in the creation of the requirements and model based system engineering infrastructures (e.g., DOORS, CAMEO) and leads efforts to allocate and derive performance and functional requirements trace their flow down to lower levelsForecasts and tracks requirement compliance activities to verify compliance and satisfy reporting obligations with the customerMay participate in the generation of responses to Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) from the customerParticipates in the planning and execution of space system engineering events (e.g., Segment Requirement Reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews and Critical Design Reviews) and applies Boeing command media to ensure they satisfy all entrance/exit criteriaRepresents space system engineering in events led by other IPTs (e.g., Manufacturing and Test Readiness Reviews)Supports the program in additional roles that evolve with the program life-cycle. This may include supporting the Assemble, Integration and Test (AI&T) IPT as either a test engineer or in an oversight role to help track and resolve Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). This may also include performing a similar role at the Launch Site or in the Mission Operations.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor''s, Master''s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry1+ years of experience with systems engineering requirement development and allocation1+ years of experience with space segment hardware developmentPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):3+ years of work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 5+ years of work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Electrical or Aerospace engineering skillsExperience in satellite system design, development or testWork with customers, program office, and interdisciplinary teamsStrong communication skills (both written and verbal)Typical Education/Experience: Associate (Level 2)Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years'' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Experienced (Level 3)Bachelor''s degree and typically 5 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification or a Master''s degree with typically 3 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Lead (Level 4)Bachelor''s degree and typically 9 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification or a Master''s degree with typically 7 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification.
