JOB TITLE - Tool and Die Maker PAY RANGE - $18 - $25/hour BOE. SHIFT: 1 st Shift: 6:50am - 3:20pm **All shifts are typically Monday thru Friday. May be required to come in early or stay later than regularly scheduled shift or come in on days off. ** 3 MOST IMPORTANT THINGS CLIENT NEEDS THIS PERSON TO HAVE - Mechanical aptitude Timeliness/ Dependability Willingness to learn JOB DESCRIPTION: Assemble, repair and fabricate close tolerance tool components for progressive dies. Interpret blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product. Surface grind flat, angle and contour surfaces to +.000linch tolerances. Use inspection tools, mills, lathes and similar tool room equipment) JOB DUTIES: Assemble, build, repair and fabricate dies and/or machine tools into sub-units or complete units. Utilize quality assurance practices and metrology equipment to ensure that product conforms to applicable design specifications. Fit tooling and perform alignment check on die to ensure design specifications and correct alignment of cutting stations. Record and store die tooling in an efficient manner as they are received in the die shop. Consult manager if any tooling may need to be modified, record any modification on print, and update request. Set-up die in press and produce a first piece sample. Utilize good housekeeping practices to maintain a clean and safe work area. Record die maintenance in Die Logbook and Preventive Maintenance schedule in a timely and accurate manner. Proven proficiency for mechanical skills. Must be available for scheduled work: normal workday of 8 hours, 5 days a week or more as necessary, night shift and weekend work are possible.
